Project Life 2012 | Week Nine

Welcome to Project Life 2012 | Week Nine.

As you can see, I'm still keeping it really pretty simple. There's not a lot of extra decoration, but I did have fun with an enlarged photo as you'll see below.

For my insert this week I cut a Design F page protector in half.

"This is life" is from my Sentiment 4x6 Boxes, cut using Vellum on the Silhouette.

Letter stickers on the card that documents the time it takes me to drive to Anna's school are from Pebbles.

The "Him/Her" card is from my Two Things set.

I actually printed that one and the Random Fact 001 card on the same 4x6 piece of paper:

The "today" and "loving" cards are from my Life Sentiment Vol.1 cards. The "fabulous" card is from the Smash Blank Journaling Pad.

I've loved seeing how Kelly and Elise have done pages using full page photos in their Project Life albums. Finally took a photo this week that felt like a good one to experiment with (partly because of encouragement from both of them after seeing this photo on Instagram).

I printed it out here at home as a 12x12 (on Epson 13x19 paper) on my Epson R2000 and then cut it down with my trimmer.

Last week I saw something on Pinterest that I knew I wanted to replicate: words on vellum.

Dear Silhouette, I love you.

I used WorldWin Transluscent Vellum, ran it through the Silhouette, rounded the edges with the Corner Chomper and then cut the 4x6 in half to fit into two smaller shapes.

I used a Precision Pen to write on my photos.

And I so often love what's left over on that cutting mat:

Even after scrapping off all those letters:

    Hi Ali,

Even for being simple this week it's still WOW WOW WOW. So much to love but that enlarged photo of you is the BEST!! Great job on it and love that you used this photo of you. That quote is a good one, thanks for sharing the link for us to get it.

Those him/her cards are the cutest along with all your other fun cards. You have great little notes of sweet memories written down, that's awesome!

Love that you kept time of the drive to school, you are so COOL!! Thanks for the idea.

Hope your enjoying your first week of March, let's hope spring is coming soon.

Beautiful, Ali - I so love your take on PL. Love that you include bits of your philosophy of life in your albums - it will, in years to come, speak of your personality, your hopes and your dreams, and that will be precious for all who view it. Thanks so much for the inspiration (constant inspiration....!)....

Love the big photo and those leftover letters would be perfect in a little plastic as word confetti a la glue stick girl. :)

LOVE it. Love all the handwriting and love the documentation of where Simon and Anna are. I adore everything you've done with the Silhouette - you have been one of the major contributing factors to me finally purchasing one (it arrives today!) and so I can't wait to try cutting vellum. The top section of the insert that allows the photo below to peek through is perfect. Just love this, Ali, you inspire me so much!

I love how the full photo page turned out. I've been wanting to try that as well, but haven't had a photo that fits. I love the one you used. I've split a couple photos to fill the 4X3 pockets, so I'm working up to an entire page :)

Every time I see something so cool you do with that silhouette I want one!!

Thanks Ali - I thought it was a "blackout" font but now I look again I can see what you have done to give it that effect (dropping out all the letters and their centres, Doh !)

I'm pretty sure it was just Arial Black.

I, too, have loved the leavings on the cutting mat -- and have used packing tape (strips abutted to one another, crossing the leavings) to pick-up and preserve the remainders.

Too funny, my kids don't like anything on their waffles either!! Just butter... but they'll eat it all day if I let them! Love your pages! Thanks for always sharing, esp the inspiration yesterday :)

As always an awesome week - LOVE the full page photo :). Also smiled at Anna reading 'Walter the Farting Dog' books - my son loved it at about the same age too - first saw it in kindy at Christmas when a friend's son was given it from Santa (bought by his parents) and then he opened the present in front of Santa and the kindy teachers and parents. Santa was speechless when he read the title! Priceless memory...:)

Love this week! I saw Simon likes books with movies right now :) Our son has been the same way forever. I think it's a visual thing and a reward for him when he's done reading. Hearing the movie is better for him than reading and trying to soak it in. Plus it makes the novels they read in 5th grade much easier when the end is a movie!

    Thanks for the inspiration.

So how did you fix your dull blade problem? Were you able to sharpen/clean out your blades or did you have to buy a new set? I have the same problem right now and they don't seem to last very long. I'd hate to have to buy new blades every couple months. Thanks!

I didn't do anything - HA - it's still not working on the cardstock but it did work on the vellum.
