Create Ombre Using Color Mist from Kelly Purkey

I wanted to share an idea for creating an ombre effect on your layouts. Ombre means shaded or graduated in tone and is popping up everywhere right now - from hair styles, clothing, home decor, and even food.

This gorgeous new ruffle paper from the Dear Lizzy line is a great example of ombre on a paper. I wanted to create my own effect so I picked three shades of yellow Mister Huey's Color Mists with butterfly masks. I set down the masks and lightly misted from the top down, using the lightest color mist to the darker.

I love that you can still see the layers of white and yellow ruffle paper below the mist.  This is an easy effect that you can do on just a white piece of cardstock and have pretty results. Hope you'll give it a try!
