Hello April

I'm welcoming April with very open arms. Saying hello to warmer weather (even just a few degrees), time outside in the yard (even if it still rains), and forward movement in my personal life. Let the new chapter begin!

Here's a few updates as we begin the month:

WELCOME NEW BLOG SPONSORS | A very warm welcome to my newest blog sponsor Freckled Fawn. Check out their great selection of washi tape, doilies, lace & ribbons and more.

ONE LITTLE WORD | A new prompt is now available in the classroom. Also a reminder that there is a chat this Saturday (April 7th) in the classroom at 9am Pacific - I'd love to have you participate. Enrollment is still open for this year long workshop - learn more here. Each month includes a prompt to help you keep your word visible throughout the year. You can begin at any time.

THANK YOU GUESTS | A big thank you to my guest posters last week: Kolette Hall, Kelly Purkey, May Flaum, Elizabeth Kartchner, Julie Fei-Fan Balzer, The Daily Digi, and Amy Tangerine.

WEEK IN THE LIFE | Title Sponsor and Giveaway Spots are now available for businesses interested in sponsoring Week In The Life 2012. Send me an email if you are interested in more information.

52 CREATIVE LIFTS | My newsletter took a little hiatus last week while I was on vacation. Look for Week 13 in your inbox today and Week 14 to follow later this week. You can sign up to receive my free weekly newsletter focused on creativity here or check out the archives here.

Lots of work ahead for me as I play catch up with Project Life, finish up content for my new Big Picture class (details coming soon), and get ready for Week In The Life. Hoping to share some photos and words from our spring break adventure tomorrow.

Scene: wherever you are - nothing special
Action: you, doing whatever you are doing wherever you are.

Ali, can't find how to leave comments to 52 Creative Lifts! Ack!
I love the idea of a wandering day - a whole day dedicated to communing with nature, God, Higher Power, bugs, birds, worms, slugs maybe. The thing is, we used to do this as kids! We'd take PBJs and be gone until mom rang the cowbell. There was this day camp I remember only as a place we'd hang or not, it was probably a good 2 miles from home, we'd walk and play with gimp -- that's all I remember, that and the baseball fields. Across the street behind the houses there was a creek and at high tides there'd be a swamp and we'd go "island hopping" -- jumping from tree to tree (the tree roots held dirt, even in higher tides - low tides were easy, hence our "islands." We'd search for treasures from Indians and George Washington. It really was a great way to be a kid.

Welcome home Ali! Here's to spring and new beginnings.

One year ago yesterday was my sister Linny's memorial. Hard to believe that much time has passed and yet simultaneously it seems like it was only yesterday. I, too, am ready to begin a new chapter of finding j.o.y. in my life again after losing it in her death and in the grieving process. I know she'd want me to live life to the fullest, so I am going to do my best to do so, and to cherish the blessings ( both little + big) in my life. Thank you for the blessing your are Ali. To sooo many! Have a beautiful day! Here's to turning the page and to a new chapter unfolding.
    Take care you.
    Suz

Ali, one more thing - in the vein of "information junkie" apropos of wandering, daydreaming, etc. Charlie (son, neuroscience for education guy) - daydreaming is essential to sanity -- apparently. Neuroscientists are research this very thing.

Lovely to welcome you back, Ali. Your flowers are lovely. I missed you. (Would you believe my creative muscle atrophied in your albeit rather brief absence?). XOXO.

    Hi Ali,
Just wondering if you are planning to come out with a stamp set for 2012?

    Thanks.

Yes, something like "A Date With Ali" stamp set but with 2012. I think it would work great with Project Life.

Hi Melissa - do you mean a stamp set that includes the numbers "2012"?
