Reasons To Smile MiniBook from Amy Tangerine

Mini books are great for documenting everything from travels to everyday adventures. They're a perfect place to keep all kinds of little treasures. Though assembling a mixed paper journal can be fun, sometimes it's easier to simply add your unique touches to a book that is already made. I wanted to create a little place for random things that bring a smile to my face. I used the I Heart You Daybook, washi tapes, lace tape, this hand-stitched tag and some elements from my new line, Sketchbook to decorate the cover.

This daybook has 2 sticker sheets sewn in as pages, so I removed a heart to add to the cover.

Then I added elements to the inside.

Although I could have completed the book in one sitting, I decided it would be more fun to have it evolve over a period of time. Anything can go into the book - magazine clippings, business cards, ticket stubs and postcards. To be able to collect memories and have a happy place to store them when creativity strikes - that alone is a reason to smile.

ABOUT AMY | Amy Tan is the Founder of Amy Tangerine, a creative company specializing in custom tee shirts and scrapbooks. Her love for sharing her clothing and paper crafts has taken her all over the globe, teaching creative classes from Hawaii to Peru to Puerto Rico. She's been working on perfecting what she likes to think of as the “art of truly living,” which includes enjoying the everyday; working smarter instead of harder; globetrotting; achieving balance in daily life; and collaborating with other creative people.

Her collaboration with American Crafts has been fortuitous, with her sophomore line, Sketchbook, beginning to make its colorful splash on projects around the world. If you're looking to be inspired, Amy has a self-paced workshop on Big Picture Classes called Get Those Creative Juices Flowing. You can say hi to her on Two Peas In A Bucket, where she is a Garden Girl, or drop her a line on her blog.

Just LOVE your mini books. Awesome post. My pics are not great, but I posted the goods album I finished, and ordered all of the rest of the line. Can't wait to get my hands on it! I received so many compliments on how fun it is. That is what memory keeping should be, effortless and FUN!
