Week In The Life 2012 | Sunday

NUMBER OF PHOTOS FOR SUNDAY | Around 50

We've come to the end of another round of Week In The Life.

I'll admit I've felt more motivated in the past to undertake this project. But, but, but...as I round out this week I've got a really good feeling in my heart. A feeling that I needed. A feeling that I didn't really expect or don't remember experiencing to this degree in the past years I've done this project. A lot of my life right now is about creating new pathways. The act of taking on this project at this time has created new pathways and encouraged me to take a look at the choices I'm making and the choices I want to make. It makes me more aware of the possibilities and that I don't have to continue doing things the same as they've been done in the past.

I'll be taking the next few days to get my photos and words into my templates and hope to share them later this week.

Here's a look at some of my Sunday photos:

    Ali,
looks like you had a wonderful, but BUSY weekend. I can't wait to see how this all comes together. Unfortunately, I did not pick up my camera yesterday as much as I had hoped for, however, I'm going with it. I LOVE Anna in her dress with the basketball - precious!

These are some of my favorite photos of yours from the week. Love how Anna is in her princess dress outside--we do a lot of that this year too. (In fact I think it's in my Thursday pics?) Also love the one of you in the garden. Thanks for inspiring with this project. I have tried to follow along for years, and could never quite hang to the end, but this year I did. At first I didn't know if it made sense (I am doing PL too) but as I sat and looked at all of my posts this past week I couldn't help but smile. WITL really and truly gives you a look at your life and how you live it--even more than PL does. I found this to be an amazing experience and look forward to making this an annual adventure. For now...I am going to put my camera in a drawer for at least three days!!! I am wiped!

Thanks so much for the inspiration Ali. I now have a week of our lives documented to a degree that I wouldn't otherwise have. It made me look at our life from the outside and see some places where we could make changes for the better. Thanks again.

Love the pic of Anna in the hat holding the m&m's almost like a pack of seeds. Hmm, a candy tree? Sounds good to me. Funny also to see that Simon is at that stage where he doesn't want to be photographed so much. I know what that is like. We had a moment on Saturday about the rules for taking photos of my son (12 yrs). They are growing up so fast.

    Happy Monday Ali,
Loved your Sunday photos, that one of Anna and her princess dress with the bball is soooo cute, lots of good ones of her today!! I bet you had fun digging in the flowerbeds today, your yard is beautiful. Thank you for posting those outside shots, your yard is a different shape/angles then I thought. The little window they play in faces the backyard, always thought it was the front yard. Great photo of Simon I'm assuming not happy at the moment with his head in hands, I like that you caught that.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts in the beginning of how this week effected you. Glad you could still be happy and find some joy in your heart for these memories. This project makes me think about our life and things that should be changed or not. So thanks always for keeping it real and sharing with us.

    HUGS AND PRAYERS
    Dawn
p.s. keep forgetting to ask, does Lucy or George ever mess up or take those legos from the window?? My cat would be all over that!!

    Ali,
forgot to mention that I had my haircut yesterday and brought my camera along. My 23yrold hairdresser loved the WITL idea and was soo excited by it that she wants to do it. I'm going to bring my album in at the next appt. to show her exactly what it means. She's never heard of blogging and can't get over that we share and see each other's photos online. She was happy to help me take photos during the haircut process and I'm glad to have that in my album this week.
Also at my son's tennis practice I started talking to some other moms whom I haven't seen since Sam was in pre-k, so nice to see them again. Anyhow they were excited about this project and Project Life, so I will be showing them my albums also.
It felt good to share these ideas with others and have them be really interested and amazed by it. I told them they could start anytime, there is no perfect time, JUST DO IT!!
Just wanted to share these good things with you!!
Have a good day and I have also taken 4 photos today, couldn't help myself!!

Thank you Ali for sharing this project as well as your beautiful family to the rest of us.

It has been an exciting week of capturing our day-to-day life in photos. Looking at others' captured moments from all over the world doing the same project was definitely half the fun. We may be oceans apart and living in different cultures and situations, we are united by our desire to preserve at least a week of memories spent with our respective families.

Love that Anna wore her costume to dinner! I snapped some pics on Friday of my son (4) wearing his cat costume on a hike and out to the cafe afterwards :-) Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this is ok! I have loved participating this week and have managed to get quite a few photos that I really like, as well as jotting down LOTS of little notes that I think will be pretty special in a few years! Can't wait to get my album all put together!!

Oh man I have enjoyed these posts SO much. Although I did not actually "do" week in a life. I am always taking pictures. That picture of Anna in the princess dress and b.ball is priceless. And I have to say I LOVE the one of Simon with his head down and hands covering his face. It may have been a "mad" moment. But it is so cute!!! Looks like a pretty darn good weekend with your kids. THATS what it's all about:) Happy Monday...I guess, pooring down rain here. REALLY feels like a Monday:)

Thanks so much for sharing your week, the ups and downs and joys, it's all so real and inspires me to look at scrapbooking the way I need to - that most real life moments aren't like the pages in the magazines that sometimes make me feel lacking in some way. Everyone in my house is undergoing change - we are all adjusting to my mom living with us and being ill with special needs. My hubby is adjusting to turning 50 and things not being quite as we'd envisioned from a standpoint of being a couple. My son is struggling to finish his 2 year degree in 3 years and is back to square one not knowing what he really wants to do. He is the most good hearted person but struggles socially to try to find the right girl, kind of fear of rejection. My daughter is in the "woes" of adolescent Aspergers and dreading the start to high school, need I say more. I feel like I am sometimes a buoy to the family and sometimes so overwhelmed by it all along with my full time job and long commute that I just want to scream. Several times a day I find myself wondering what I should have done differently, and many times a day I silently pray. Yet the love is there, the everyday moments are there, there is lots of laughter mixed in the chaos. That's what a week in the life needs to capture at our house - what it really is and what there is no reason to feel afraid of exposing even though it doesn't always feel that way.

ali - thank you so much for the reminder that we always have choices, we can always choose to change how we're doing things, we can always create new pathways. i'm struggling with a difficult 13yo daughter right now, & we had an awful week last week. your post reminds me that this is a new week, & i can create new pathways through it. thanks, & here's wishing you a blessed week. :)
