31 Things Begins Next Week

My new 4-week workshop, 31 Things, begins next Thursday at Big Picture Classes.
Here's a few more details about this class for those of you that might be thinking about signing up (or for those of you who are reading about it for the first time today):
This is not a class where you'll be documenting what you do each day for 31 days.
This is a class where you are invited, via daily prompts, to tell 31 stories from your life. Some people will tell stories from today. Some will tell stories from the past. And some will tell stories that combine the two together. Some stories will be serious. Some will be silly. Some might will be hard and others easy.
This is a class that will stretch your writing muscles and encourage you to tell your stories in more detail and depth.
This is a class that focuses on topics/themes you might dismiss when you are thinking about which stories to scrapbook/write about your life. Examples of some of the topics/themes include jewelry, technology, listen, shoes, carry, spirit, outside, covet.
This is a class that would be appropriate for anyone who is interested in writing stories about their life, even if you don't consider yourself a scrapbooker.
This is a class for every kind of memory keeper (paper, digital, art journalers, writers, bloggers, etc because it's really all about the writing).
Class begins on Thursday, May 17th and runs through June 16th. All the daily emails will be archived in the classroom at Big Picture - there will also be a message board and gallery for sharing your work and being a part of the class community.
As with all Big Picture workshops you have complete access to the classroom and the archives after the live class is over.
When you sign up there's a video waiting for you with more details along with layered templates for Photoshop users and Word journaling templates for those that might not use Photoshop.

I can't wait Ali. I'm ready to document. So excited about this class. One of the first I've found that will not be overwhelming to me in the short time we have together. Thanks so much for creating this class. I can see my album growing huge from it with my own words.

I signed up for it last night! Years and years ago, I used to LOVE to write... and then, with my career path and eventually becoming a busy SAHM of 2, I rarely write at all. This class is a birthday present... to myself!

I signed up weeks ago! Can't wait for this class! I've always loved writing and when I was a kid I would write page after page about anything. I've always said one day I WILL write a book! Sadly, as an adult with three little ones, life leaves little room for me to just sit and write. I need this to refresh my skills and thoughts and I think you are so great at getting your thoughts and feelings down on the page, Ali. Thanks for this class!

This class is exactly what I need! My OLW this year is "write". I have been working on trying to tell my story and this class is a perfect compliment to my word. Thank you so much for putting this together.

Hello Ali, just wondering if you'll be sharing some of your layouts for this class. I love how you tell your stories and would love to see some of your ideas for this project.

Hi Danielle - I'm just sharing the image above that shows some of the layouts all together. Seeing the layouts and reading the content is part of being a student in the class (especially since it's much more about the words vs. the actual look of the layouts).

There will be a chat and you'll just miss any live interaction on the message boards. The daily prompts will come to you via email so if you'll have internet access available you'll be able to access the prompts.

I CAN HARDLY WAIT! A CLASS FOCUSED ON JOURNALING FIRST! HOW MANY MORE MINUTES UNTIL MAY 17TH? YAY!
Thanks so much, Ali, for coming up with this class. I love photos, products, and the whole world of scrap/altered stuff. But story is my very first love and this is a great time for me to dig deeply to write. I am 60 years old and am as excited as a kid in a candy shop!

Thanks,Ali for the expalanation. I signed up for class not sure what to expect, but I love how this sounds. It's as if you took 'one little word' and made it a 'daily word'. I like this concept. A different word to focus on each day. Yes, I like this, cant' wait to start class.

Ali, This is a great writing exercise. (Especially for me as I struggle with it)
