AE | The Weekend Lens

A date with an old friend to a local winery on Friday.

Some work in the yard.

A run through the sprinkler with my best girl.

More yard work (this time with a helper).

Sunday hot-dog dinner with friends (with costumes + sidewalk chalk of course).

Not pictured above: lots of Indiana Jones (Simon in costume most of the weekend even though it’s hot), sleeping in and hanging out with kids, evening swim on Saturday night followed by a viewing of Willie Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (the older one), Anna talking non-stop, and Simon singing songs from The Muppets as loud as possible in the car (it’s pretty much on repeat as soon as we get in the car).

I agree Tanya! It’s amazing how much more aware of the seasons I am and how fast or slow they seem to be moving since I’ve become a bit of a blog fan! Reading about the northern hemisphere and seeing what everyone gets up too in their summers always seems to help winter pass a little bit faster :)

Sounds like you guys had a great weekend! I can’t wait to have a yard to hangout in, and little helpers to go with it! I’m so jealous you guys are in summer at the moment too… I miss the warmth since it’s winter here in Aus

It seems so long since you posted anything on your blog that I thought maybe you went on vacation….you did, but in your own yard! I’ve already met most of my goals for the summer. It’s cloudy today so I’m thinking—FALL.

Beautiful photo of you and your little girl. I give you a LOT of credit for getting through the last year with such grace. I’m going through a breakup…and that sucks…i cannot imagine a divorce. Thinking of you and of course, loving your blog. ; )

Ohmygosh, you too with The Muppets?! Those songs are so crazily addictive–and if I never hear “Am I a maaaannnn, or am I a Muppet?” belted out by my girls, it’d be too soon. :)

Ali – just had to comment that I know life hasn’t been easy for you and I hope the adjustment to the new life is going as best as it can but I must say you look absolutely wonderful. I love the longer hair and you look amazing!!!!! I’m sure becoming that athlete again has helped. But I just had to let you know how great you look and I do hope that you and the entire family are doing well!!!!!! Looks like you are having a great summer and I’m really glad for that for you. You have done so much to help me do my best to document my life and now my life with my kids that I would wish nothing but happiness for you and the family!!!!!

Looks like you had an amazing weekend. I have to say that my favorite of your pictures are of you and Anna in your swim suits. You are one hot mamma! You are such an inspiration of how to live your life to the fullest even when faced with challenges. Thanks Ali!

You looks so lovely with Anna. Love how you captured several relationships in these pictures. And two without any faces. The chalk one is adorable.

Love those photos of your daughter & you!
My daughter (age 23mths) and son (age 5) ARE obsessed with that Muppets movie. They sing it everyday, continuously. I dream of those catchy songs. Even my daughter, Arianna, will be in the car seat and will do the act that Mary does in the scene for the Happy song. hahaha. =)
