Saying Yes.

Saying yes to being silly and fun and light and tickling and giggling.

Saying yes to new music. My latest purchases include The Head & The Heart and Mat Kearney.

Saying yes to embracing these last few weeks of summer before school starts, including the Danskin triathlon this weekend.

Saying yes to wearing skirts almost everyday.

Saying yes to hiring Katie to come work for me as an assistant full time when school starts = more time for making stuff.

Saying yes to taking the kids to the fair tonight even though it's super hot.

Saying yes to the adventure of a new relationship without worrying about what it all means. One day at a time. One moment at a time.

Saying yes to letting go.

Saying yes to letting in.

Saying yes to daring greatly.

What are you saying yes to these days?

A new job! Super excited to take a bit of a turn in my career and working for an organization that's doing great work for older adults. I start Sept 4, which allows me to finish out my summer "break" completely :) Few more things on my manifesto list to enjoy. . .

I am saying yes to change. lots changing...new house, new responsibilities at work, new marriage, new bills. Change is something I've learned to embrace and just roll with the punches. Just like you said "one day at a time". I can do it! And Ali- you are so inspirational! Love reading your blog and finding new books for motivation through you! :)

I am saying "yes" to two major changes in my life---my only child is leaving for college in two weeks and I am also beginning the school year in a new school after teaching for fifteen years in a school that I loved. Though I struggle with anxiety at times regarding these changes, I too am trying to take it a day at a time, being thankful for the many blessings in my life at present and for the adventure to come. Thank you for sharing your journey, Ali; it is inspiring and encouraging as you handle these changes with joy and grace.

I'm saying yes to better health. January, I had my right hip replaced and two weeks ago today (!) I had my left hip replaced. All before my 47th birthday on 8/23!!! I'm looking forward to pain-free movement, exercising and losing weight. I feel stronger already! Blessings Ali!

Saying yes to allowing my husband to take my 14 yo daughter on a 93 mile hike around Mount Rainier.
It was hard to let her go and I worried about how she would do on an eight day hike but I'm proud to say that she finished and is back home.

Saying yes to changes at work- I'm a special ed. instructional coach for my school district, and when we reported back yesterday, there were lots of changes from last year. I'm just rolling with it and seeing where it goes.

Love reading your blog- your outlook on life and the grace at which you approach everything is inspiring. Trying to live my life more like that, too.

I'm saying "yes" to getting healthy! I have already dropped 50 pounds. I ran a 5K this summer, and by "ran" I do mean I walked in 1 hour and 17 minutes! But it was a Color Run, so I had to get as much color as possible! Here is a picture,

So I do credit a lot of this change to "One Little Word" and tell everyone about it!

I am loving this post Ali, so happy for you!

I am saying yes to doing less busy work, less multitasking, and more enjoying the moment.

I am saying yes to letting my child just BE instead of always "working on something" or analyzing something about her health.

I am also saying yes to more time relaxing by the pool, yes to getting back on the WII fit almost every day...and one great big YES to going back to church as a family.

    I love saying yes!

so happy to hear all that you're saying yes to. i'm trying to say yes to my kids more this summer--yes to ice cream, yes to staying up late, yes to swimming more, yes to having friends over, yes to it all even though i'd really like to say no and stay in my house and do my own thing.
