AE Travel Lens | Ireland 2012, Part Two

I arrived home safe and sound from Ireland on Sunday night after one of those crazy long 24+ hour days of travel.

In looking back through my photos a couple themes really stood out: landscapes (along with clouds & sky) and yellow. I expected the wide open landscapes and those awesome places where sky and sea or land meet, but the yellow was a bit of a surprise.

I like being surprised.

The landscapes:

The yellow:

Such a fun adventure. I love checking out new places - especially with a wonderful collection of new and old friends.

Once again this year one of my most favorite parts of the trip was the laughter. I love watching people let themselves be delighted and open up to the experience of travel, meeting new people, going with the flow, experiencing a different culture, etc.

Now it's time to catch up on things around here and hug my kids a million times.

Looking for some adventure with like-minded memory keepers? Next November (2o13 - not during US Thanksgiving) I'll be doing another trip with Jim West/Scrapmap to China. More details available here.

Oh your pictures make me want to go back to Ireland TODAY. I was fortunate enough to go a couple years ago and have been dreaming of it ever since. So glad you had a good time and that you've returned safe and sound.

Welcome back! The photos remind me of my daughter and her husband's trip to Ireland last year (it was a belated honeymoon). Beautiful scenery. That yellow was so bright and cheerful and I loved it!

welcome back Ali! your pictures are gorgeous! I need to make a trip there. question: when you're traveling like that, how many lenses do you carry with you? and what are they? my struggle with trips is that I want to carry my lenses, but then to carry those lenses, it seems like a burden, the weight? but I would want great pictures... I'm conflicted. thanks in advance!

thanx Ali! I need to figure out how to manage a DSLR and 3 boys (5, 3, 1) on trips.

I just took one with me (the 24-70) - it's the one I keep on there all the time. I also took photos with my iphone and with the instax (I'll post those later this week).

Welcome back Ali, loving all of the bright yellow doors-how adorable. You take such great photos, it is fun to see Ireland through your lens.

Also I ordered the SC DD kit, and I cannot wait to see what you do with your pages, I cannot believe it is already mid-October, how crazy is that?

Any chance you will be designing any "ireland" brushes? I know there are many that would love them! Thanks for considering. :)

welcome home! you sure are happy to be back to your children and family; lovely photos; where I live the landscapes are similar (so are the sky and the land) but we usually find blue rather than yellow ;) : that's a close neighbor :Britanny,France. did you know, that 's usually paint leftovers from fish boats that is used to paint windows and doors on islands?
