Traditional Scrapbook Layout | Simply Wonderful

Here's a look at a new layout I put together featuring some of the glitter and sequin favorite finds featured on my blog today.

Here's the basic steps:

  1. Spritz some Heidi Swapp Color Shine onto Bazzill swiss dot cardstock for the background.

  2. Using the "simply wonderful" glitter banner as a guide, cut the photo and pattern paper to the same angle. These glitter stickers are temporarily adhered to a clear plastic backing which makes it great for playing with placement on your page before actually sticking it down.

  3. Adhere bottom pattern paper, then letter stickers for "so love you 2", the photo (I used foam dots to lift it up off the page), and the glitter banner title. I ended up adding the wood veneer heart when I realized that I had too much space between "you" and "2."

  4. Type journaling onto a Project Life grid card. I used an old cursive typewriter that Katie picked up a few weeks ago.

  5. Add a "happy day" tab behind journaling and adhere both.

  6. Staple sequin heart so that it overlaps the journaling and the pattern paper.

I really like this layout, I like how you cut the picture out in the same shape as the waving banners. I was wondering, how big is the over all size of this layout?

I love how little ones almost put each other in a choke hold when they hug or hang on to each other. Have so many great cousin pucs like this. Cherish than as I and my son are both only children who are lucky enough to have close cousins. Love the layout.

Searching for a cursive-typewriter font now:) Love the look (but not the $200+ pricetags on etsy). Lucky find, Katie!

Free font: scripts 12 Pitch BT is the only one I've found so far, though it leaves a bit too much space between some letters. Anyone else have any font suggestions?

The most amazing thing is that she found it at Goodwill for $2. Not a typo TWO DOLLARS.

Thanks for doing a scrap book page. I hav'nt done one in over 2yrs. Makes me want to pull the mountain of paper out of my scrapbook closet. Would you think about making a page a month so that it would encourage us to get back into the hobbie.? I spent most of my time with PL.

Hi Susan - I've been doing a page each month for Technique Tuesday. You can see those here: http://aliedwards.com/projects/traditional-scrapbooking. They always post on the 10th of the month. I'm totally planning to do more in the year to come.

A cursive typewriter for $2?! What a score! Love your layout. I scrap 8.5x11 as well and I'm curious what size was your photo originally? Thanks Ali.
