2013 ScrapMap Adventure To China

Next November (2013) I'll be traveling to China with Jim West of ScrapMap for what I know will be a crazy awesome adventure and you're invited to come along.

I've previously embarked on organized memory keeping trips to Italy (2011) and Ireland (2012) with Jim and both trips have been amazing. The people, the places, the conversation, the friendships made along the way.

For 2013 Jim and I decided that China would be our destination. It's somewhere I've always wanted to visit and somewhere completely out of my comfort zone (in a really good way).

Here's a few details about the China trip:

  • We'll begin in Beijing as our home base and explore the incredible Forbidden City, Silk Alley, The Great Wall of China, the Temple of Heaven, The Beijing Zoo, a Silk Spinning Factory and other cool sights.

  • We then move to Xi'an where we will experience, among other things, the Terra Cotta Warriors.

  • From there we head out on a cruise on the Yangtze River Cruise and end our trip Shanghai.

Check out the full, detailed itinerary here.

Come adventure with us!

There is an option for a payment plan with a full refund available up until the final payment date.

Have a great time! We went to China earlier this year and loved it! Make sure to look into the shops on Nanluoguxiang in Beijing (near the Ghost Street). There are lots of neat paper products and journals for sale there, nicer than what you would normally find for sale in China. I brought home a blank journal from there that I made into a minibook.

Make sure to eat Yangrou Paomo in Xi'an - it's the famous local dish, served in the Muslim Quarter. You crumble pieces of bread into a bowl, then the kitchen fills it with soup. It's amazing!

I would be disowned for life if I didn't bring my family. Are these trips kid (12 yo) and husband friendly?

I am drooling over this. What a trip!

Wish I could afford this, as the mother of two Chinese children I can tell you China is one amazing country and going there with a group of fellow scrapbookers would be so cool.

I am from China and I've been living there for 21 years. You've been to more places than me. Lucky you!
