December Daily™ 2012 | Day Twenty-Four, Twenty-Five

A big thanks to everyone who participated in December Daily™ this year!

I hope it helped you savor and document your holiday season.

I know many of you will still be working on this in the days, weeks, and months to come (some of you are continuing on through the end of this month or through Epiphany). Keep at it! I wanted to get mine done quickly before leaving for a little after-Christmas adventure with my kids (my reward for missing them terribly during the days leading up to Christmas day).

I love starting this project and I love wrapping it up.

Here's a look at Days Twenty-Four and Twenty-Five:

Day Twenty-Four started with a little 2-page insert.

A couple close ups:

That great "love | light" overlay came from Meredith Tilton. I stapled it on top of the star card (came in the Studio Calico kit). On the back is some journaling that I'm choosing to keep private. The second part of the insert is silver glitter paper wrapped with some washi tape + small black stars on the front.

On the back I stitched "can't wait" with Crate Paper chipboard letters and added some KI Memories type tape.

"Soon it will be Christmas Day" is from my All I Want For Christmas word art set. Loved that the kids got letters back from Santa. So awesome.

For Christmas day I'll be adding a few more photos from after the kids return home. I covered my journaling with the awesome gold dot vellum that was included with the Studio Calico kit and added the sentiment "let your heart be light" using Dear Lizzy 5Th & Frolic Gold Foil Mini Alpha Tiles. A sentiment I needed to hear repeated back to me so very much (thank you dear friend for your text message reminder). "All I want for Christmas" is from my All I Want For Christmas word art set.

Hoping you all had a wonderful holiday!

I love how simple and beautiful your pages and inserts are!! I can see the envelopes on the tree, how fun that must have been for the kids to see. I'm loving the size you used more and more, so happy you tried it.

Have fun on your little adventure with the kids and looking forward to seeing Christmas pictures of all the hoopla that goes with it.

I never put those songs in context of missing your children. :( I'm sure you made the most of your situation, and I hope that it went better than you feared. I love how you kept this album cheerful but with many feelings between the lines.

I saw the same thing in your album Ali - primarily holiday cheer with deeper feelings left unsaid. Thought of you this week, hoping you were enjoying time with those sweet kids! Thank you for all of the Holiday memory sharing! It's amazing all that you inspire! Have a grand Christmas adventure with your children!

Beautiful, beautiful album, Ali. So glad you get to spend some much-needed time with the kids. I noticed that pages 19 & 20 weren't accessible...would love to see them. Have a great holiday with the little ones.

you are a gracious and lovely person to share with us a noble and loving way to find a new normal after a divorce. i admire you greatly and want you to know it will get easier as the years go by. your lucky children will benefit from your very real and genuine demeanor and you are helping so many other who see this season as a mixed blessing - with so much joy, yet so much longing.

Thanks for inspiring us to do this project. yes, it really made the holidays 'stay alittle longer' because I was paying more attention to what was happening. That was the best benefit for me.

Thank you for sharing your December Daily with us.

How did you like the small format? I couldn't do it--there's just so much going on that I love about all of December that I couldn't contain it. I do usually have trouble limiting myself....

Beautiful album!! Thank you so much for the sharing with us. I know it must have been terribly hard being away from the kids and having to still document it and then share it. I hope you are now enjoying them and having a great time together :)

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful album with us. I attempted to create my first DD this year, but with all good intentions, fell behind. Are the dates able to be changed on the overlays so that I can set up foundation pages for NEXT year?
    Thanks!

Great job on getting it done. I decided this year to just journal through December and then put the album together all at once, kind of the way I do vacation mini-albums. I plan to print my photos and put it together over the weekend. So far this approach has helped me not "get behind" and then discouraged half way through the month.

I want to put the December Daily overlays on two of my photos, but I can't remember how to do it in Photoshop Elements. I tried searching your blog, but I can't seem to find the tutorial. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction? Thanks! Happy New Year!
