I need to be more purposeful with my time outside of work. My word this year is allot to remind me that planning ahead will help me stay aware of how I use the time I've been given.

    Hey Ali---
I didn't get mine posted and it's not here :) My word of the year is ABIDE.
Thanks for compiling this list every year. This is my 7th year in choosing a word...it's become one of my favorite traditions.

Here's why I chose this word:

This will be my first year participating in OLW even though I thought about it for the last three years. Last year I even picked the word BELIEVE but never followed through. This year I made the commitment. After signing up I made a list of words.....23! So far I have it narrowed down to two. LIVE and COMMIIT

I choose JOY. Definitions I like are: 1) the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires 2) a source or cause of delight. Am looking forward to the class. Thanks!

Greetings from Southern Oregon! Even though I have been following your blog since it's inception, this is my 1st entry. There are so many wonderfully inspirational words chosen by your readers, I wondered how on earth I could narrow my own selection to...1 little word. I think my word shall be...TRANSITION for 2013. I retired unexpectedly 3 years ago. With a 93 yo Mother who moved in with us and a husband whose diabetes is taking its toll, I struggle to make this TRANSITION gracefully.

Ali, I have wanted to take your OLW class for several years and am excited to finally be doing it this year. This is my third year to select a word though. Looking forward to giving it deeper focus through your class. My word is not on your list yet. It is HIGHER.

My OLW for 2013 is "you & me". I want to focus on the relationship with my husband so we "live" instead of just exist with each other.

I've been struggling with finding my word. I always have so many goals and projects but have not been very successful in seeing anything to completion. So I have determined that 20113 will be THE year to finally do the things that have been on my list year after year. There are several possibilities that I am considering but no single one that is really resonating with me. Hopefully one will become more apparent before too much time passes!
