Be Present Retreats | Your Story 2013

Registration opens today for The Your Story Retreat, June 19-23 in beautiful Gearhart, Oregon.

Come along to the Oregon Coast with me, Kelly Barton, Vivienne McMaster, and Liz Lamoreux as your guides and explore ways to tell your story using photography, journaling, and art+crafty fun. This will be my third year attending this wonderful gathering – I wouldn’t miss it.

Throughout the retreat we’ll share stories and creative tools in a safe, encouraging environment. We’ll play with paint, let our cameras guide us, walk on the beach, and let the sun shine upon our heads as we listen to one another and share pieces of who we are.

Throughout our time together, we will explore the theme “Tell Your Story” and dive into self-portraits, go on photography excursions, play with journals and have lots of creative fun. We’ll also have some group discussions on topics like blogging and the intersection between our personal and private lives and how to navigate sharing our stories online.

More details and registration available here.

My hubby and I had a conversation the other day and I told him that if ever you came to Australia I would be there. We also talked about our wish to return to NYC and he told me that Oregon is a place that he would like to live. He seemed open to letting me do something creative if we return to the Us. *wink*

I was hoping that I could participate this year. With my son graduating and the expenses, I will have to wait til next year. I know I’m meant to go someday. I went to Gearhart Elementary school first grade to sixth, way back when! Now there’s a story!

Oh man, this looks amazing Ali. I’m struggling right now trying to find that “right” balance between sharing/being open and keeping certain things out of the blogging realm. And just trying to find my voice, or maybe I know what it is, and it’s just a matter of being comfortable. One of these years hopefully. :)

I need to find more “me” time to sit down and read the blogs I love. Just went to sign up and realized there’s a waiting list! Sounds incredible, I could certainly use the “me” time, even if I have to pitch a tent! :)

I really wanted to do this but I am going to take the fact that it is already sold out as a sign I’m not meant to be there this year. Plus, I already have 4 big trips planned for the coming months…and as easy-going and understanding as my boss is, I’m not sure I can ask for any more time off! So next year!
