Studio AE Blog Hop from Technique Tuesday | March 2013

Welcome to the March 2013 Studio AE Blog Hop from Technique Tuesday!

March's stamp set is called The Story:

DIGITAL MEMORY KEEPER? A digital set that uses these same sentiments is available here: Story Sentiment Stacks

Here's a look at my 8.5x11 layout:

I used RadLab from Totally Rad to adjust this full-page 8.5x11 photo of Anna. I wanted it to look similar to an old polaroid (that would then be framed with the polka dot vellum).

I hand-cut the vellum frame to go around the 8.5x11 photo of Anna. The vellum is from Dear Lizzy's Neapolotan collection. Before printing the photo I added text using Mom's Typewriter font.

When I was adding the vellum as a frame I realized that I had made it too tall. To fix that I folded a bit along each of the sides and adhered it together with rolling adhesive. Ends up looking like a little pleat along either side (they are off-center of one another).

I used two Close To My Heart inks with the stamp.

I trimmed the stamped image, rounded the corners, hand-drew the lines with the little hearts and adhered using foam dots.

Along the top I created a cluster of vertical elements that includes washi tape and chipboard accents from My Mind's Eye. These went both on top of and below the vellum border.

I folded the edges a tiny bit on the washi tape to add a little extra texture. I also stamped "life is good" from this month's stamp set along the printed text. Here's another look at the complete layout:

One of the many things I like about your scrapbooking is that you incorporate so many ideas and products from different companies that your projects always have a one of a kind look. I also like the "complex simplicity" of your designs. The focus is the photos yet the fun part is how you "frame" them or add to it... accessorizing the page or photo so to speak. Thanks so much for sharing what you do with us !
