How Do You Read Blogs?

Have you read the news that Google Reader is going away?

Which leads me to my next question...

How do you read blogs these days?

Via a reader? Via email? Via bookmarks?

I've been using Feedly for a bit now and love the clean streamlined design plus it looks great on my ipad which is where I tend to read blogs the most (thanks to Peppermint for the tip on that one a few months back). I also just have a set of bookmarks in Firefox toolbar that includes blogs I like to visit from time to time. I do have a couple blogs I subscribe to via email that I really don't want to miss.

Gosh, I get all of my favorite peeps via email. I don't have to remember to go anywhere to look for them and I can scan through them when I'm waiting to pick up my grand baby or when ever like when I'm eating. I've signed up for several in a reader and I get no message from anywhere, saying they are waiting. I don't have time to look for them, so email is what works for me. I can delete the ones I'm not interested in or save or flag the ones I'm interested in. I can go comment for giveaways or blog hops and move on. There are still tons of crafters that don't have email subscription, most are willing to add it if you ask, but some are too busy like the PTI girls that don't have it, which is sad. So I add those people to my home page and if I'm all caught up, I will go see what they have going.

I am SO glad that you posted this! I wasn't sure what I was going to do. Google Reader is where I go when I want some scrap inspiration. A few mins flicking through and/or reading the blogs and I am good to go. I just didn't have the patience to investigate what to do but I have opened new tabs based on you reader's suggestions and I will see what I decide to go with.

I've been using Bloglovin and I'm really "lovin" it! I like how I get a picture of the post and a small portion of the text. I have a quick "Mark as Read" option if I decide that I do not want to open up the feed. I have a "like" heart to quickly note which blog I favor. It's really simple to use. But now, with all of these comments, I may have to go and take a look at Feedly...

I'm using Feedly now as well, and am really happy with it. Can read my blogs on my iPhone easily when I'm stuck waiting somewhere as well as my iPad.

I was using Google Reader, and have switched to The Old Reader -- a seamless transition! It's so very much the same, that it feels as if nothing has changed! Love it.

I use Flipboard. There is things I don't like, things I don't understand, but it looks good ;-)

I just migrated to Feedly and so far like the clean interface and site design. The only thing I don't like is that they don't know yet whether they will be able to import or migrate existing tags from Reader. That's one of the reasons I liked Reader so much. I don't know what I'd do without all my tagged blog posts!

Well it's just two weeks away -- google readers end. Did you settle on anything Ali? I've been using Feedly, and like the clean design while reading. But I know it sinks with Google reader and am unsure what will happen once that is gone.

    Love all the suggestions.
