Project Life 2013 | Week Twelve

Welcome to Project Life 2013 | Week Twelve.

Not a ton of written journaling this week, but lots of words on photos. I love the mix of digital brushes and letter stickers.

This week includes one 6x12 insert that holds 6, 4x6 photos from our beach weekend.

I used a bunch of different outline banners this week from some of the sets I have available at Designer Digitals. I love to place them right in the middle of my photos (in Photoshop) before printing. For some reason I really like them right there in the middle of the photos - this technique also works with letter stickers.

This week I included banners from the following sets (click on the preview image to see them in the shop):

Anna had her Spring Concert this week. Gotta love little kids singing. So awesome.

I also have to love that Anna told me I smell like peaches. She actually told me that again today.

The yellow circle heart sticker is from Studio Calico.

Goodbye foam letter stickers are from American Crafts (White Fantastic Enchanted Dear Lizzy Foam Thicker Stickers). This was the week we moved everything out of the office.

Anna locked herself in her bedroom one night this week and proceeded to go to sleep. I went to turn off her light for the night and couldn't get in because she had actually turned the deadbolt (why that was there in the first place is a good question). Long story short I ended up having Chris come over to help me get the door open. Appreciated the rescue.

You can see the post that went along with these beach images here.

"Totally Love" is a stamp from my Just Awesome stamp set.

Definitely one of my favorites especially since it fits perfectly into the Avery Index tabs. Love them especially for identifying inserts.

"This Is Something Magical" is a transparent element from BasicGrey that was included in the Studio Calico PL Add-On Kit this month. The other text was added with Photoshop before printing the photo.

A favorite shot from the week. Added the "heart beach" from my Beach Outline Banners set.

"So Much Love" is a combination of a Pebbles Seen & Noted Chipboard Word Bubble + BasicGrey White Micro Mini Letter Stickers + My Mind's Eye Notable Cute Enamel Dots (the little yellow dot). I like how it looks like a push-pin.

On the photo of me I added those great puffy glitter letter stickers from Pink Paislee.

"So Love Our Family" (from this digital set) was cut with the Silhouette before adding into the pocket. The photo behind is part of the next week spread.

IDEA | Find a 4x6 photo that can be spilt in half where one side includes an object and the other side is "white space" for journaling. You can also intentionally take photos with this idea in mind. On the right side of the photo I added the "gratitude" outline banner brush from my Give Thanks Outline Banner set and text below (font is Sentinel).

I so relate to this. I have found myself saying that I am "back." Where was I? Not sure, but given the the amount of loss I have experienced in the last 3 years, I believe I was in a personal retreat, licking my wounds, healing, gaining strength, so that at the right time, I could share that fun side of me again. Good for you for noticing!! And you go Girl! I recommend the Origami Owl charm that says fearless...a great reminder to be open and enjoy!

Such a gorgeous spread, as always. And for the record, I totally need a silhouette. Could add so much more to my pages. Too bad my kids cost me so much dang money. *sigh* C'est la vie.

I feel your pain re: the locked door! One of my boys locked himself in my bedroom one night and proceeded to go to sleep. Argg! Rather than wake him up (and his brother, most likely, too) by yelling through the door, I got a screwdriver and removed the whole door knob. Then I replaced all the door knobs in the house with new ones which are *easy* to unlock from the outside. No deadbolts (!!) so that helped; but with the old door knobs, it was technically possible to undo the lock from the outside but practically? Impossible. With the new ones - easy-peasy! (I like the new color better too. :D)

Awesome spread, Ali! I love our your beach photos... Looks like such a happy trip! I love how you put the text in the middle of the photos too... It looks awesome! How frustrating about Anna locking herself in the room... Hopefully she didn't hear the noise and wake up scared or anything!

Hi! I tried to find that when putting together the post - it's from Dear Lizzy (called Neutrals Trinket Lucky Charm Thicker Phrases).

I love your little banners with the words inside them in the middle of your photos. I was wondering if a Sharpie paint marker would create the same look? I like my handwriting and am NOT a great technical wizard so I was trying to think through how to get that look without using the computer. Thanks in advance for any advice you have!
