Simon Edwards You're Our Only Hope

I was picking up and putting away last night when I opened this little red notebook of Simon's and found this story.

I don't know when he wrote it but man it's a good one - a little bit Star Wars, a little bit Spider Man, a little bit ninja and all Simon Edwards.

And I have no idea where the "Alvin's hot juice box" comes from (besides maybe Alvin and The Chipmunks). EDITED: A wonderful Google sleuth in the comments found that this is a line from an Adventure Time episode which makes complete sense because that's a show he likes to watch.

Simon's at 5th Grade Outdoor School the next couple of days otherwise I'd ask him to tell me more about this awesome story (and I sure will when he returns home).

Hope he's having an awesome adventure.

You are awesome Simon! Don't you just love these little gems Ali? My kids leave me little stories and love letters (5 & 6 yrs) and most times beautiful pictures describing that awesome story. I have had to get a scrapbook to keep the best ones :)

I had to Google that because I couldn't stand not knowing: "Alvin's Hot Juice Box" is apparently a phrase from Adventure Time on Cartoon Network. It totally fits this scenario.

Adventure Time, of course! My first guess for "Alvin's Hot Juice Box!" was a variation on "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!" Remember that?
Simon's story has great flow and really pulls you in.I felt like I was there.

    Writing is the best!
Maddie's class had "Outdoor School" (I like that, they don't call it that here) for five days last week at Casper Mtn and Matt and I both moved mountains and operated on about 4 hours of sleep a night for the two weeks leading up to it so we could pull off going to chaperone. It was definitely one of the highlights of her elementary school career (and for us, too!) Hope he has fun.
