Katie's Project Life 2013 | Weeks 16 & 17

Welcome to Katie's Project Life 2013 | Weeks 16 & 17.

I am going to attempt to play major catch up this week on this project. Time has gotten away from me, and I've fallen majorly behind.

I am so looking forward to get caught up. I really enjoy writing down our stories from the week right after they happen vs. trying to think back 5+ weeks to remember what we did.

Week 16:

We started working on some projects for our wedding this week. We spray painted and glittered some large wood letters we found at Michaels. I love how they turned out.

I used Amy Tangerines awesome calendar stamp for the date card.

Those awesome gold glitter arrows are from Freckled Fawn and the sequinned arrow is from Heidi Swapp.

If you have never tried on Saltwater Sandles before, I highly suggest you do. They are comfortable and cute.  I want them in every color, but I am loving the gold and tan ones I have.

Loving Ali's Edge Sentiments Vol. 01 and Hello Weekend Journal Cards.

The small "Hi" tag is from Basic Grey, and the "oh yeah"  tag is from Heidi Swapp.

The cute triangle paper is from Studio Calico and the "2" tag is from Elle's Studio Serendipity Tiny Tags.

Week 17:

This was a super fun week for me. One of my best friends flew in from Florida to surprise her little sister for her 21st birthday. We all took her out for her birthday and had a blast catching up.

The "Everything Is Wonderful" sticker is from Kelly Purkey's Everything Is Wonderful 6x12 sticker sheet.

The "Soak Up The Sun" and "Up To No Good" stamps are from Kelly Purkey's June/July Project Kit from Simon Says Stamp, as well as the gold sequins. I am so loving Kelly's kits!

I used the number stamps from Kelly Purkey's June/ July Project Kit + Color Box ink in Frost White to add a little something extra to this photo of my friends little sister. Kelly's stamps are so awesome, and they stamp beautifully!

The washi tape is Unforgettable Decorative Tape from My Mind's Eye.

The wood 3x4 card is also from Kelly's June/July Kit, as well as "the weekend report" stamp. And the "awesome" stamp is from Kelly's stamp set called Right Now.

I tried to keep everything very simple (less embellishments) because I have so much to catch up on. I find even adding a just little bit of color coordinating washi tape to the edges of photos is enough sometimes to pull the colors and photos together for the week.

This is so good. It definitely helps me get through a week if I skip embellishments.

And, dude, I love those gold book ends! If you're selling them, I'm totally buying!

Love the "21" design around the photo image. Have to try that maybe with the date number or something. CUTE.

also, totally random question (and if you don't want to answer, please don't, I take no offense) I love the color of your hair, is it natural or do you color it. I'm looking for a change and think that color may be it.

    Thanks. Have a great weekend!!

      Hi Ali!
My hair color is not natural-- I wish!
My sister is my hair stylist so I asked her what color she uses. I have no idea what this all means, but here you go! :)

She uses goldwell 11a for my base with 30vol, and then goldwell bleach with 20vol for my highlights.

      Hope that helps!

What awesome spreads! I can see how you would love the gold glitter letters for your wedding, they are amazing! I also love how you stamped the 21 all over the background of the photo of your friends sister... Looks great!

hi katie, love the layouts as usual. where did the I heart today come from? is that something that was created with a silhouette and it's pens? I can only get my pens to outline and not fill in.
    thanks!
