Love These Father's Day Cards

Father's Day is just around the corner (next weekend in case you're wondering) and I'm helping the kids do a couple things to celebrate their Dad.

Minted graciously invited me to test out one of their Father's Day cards this year and since I've used them for the last two years for my Christmas cards and have loved their service and quality it was an easy yes. Check out my Christmas cards in my December Daily albums here: 2011, 2012.

I picked out the Dad•Libs card because I thought it would be a fun way to get the kids involved with the cards.

You can actually fill in the card on the website or you can order a blank one like we did to be filled in at home.

There are multiple colors and fonts to choose from and then you can include a photo on the inside.

The kids thought they were pretty fun too.

Simon got a little frustrated when he made a mistake and when he didn't approve of what Anna was writing. He didn't want her to say "I wanted to yell to you." rather he wanted her to say something kinder like say or tell.

Loved both of their results:

The "you will always help me" was my personal favorite.

That was my favorite part too Ali. These are so cute, haven't seen them before. I love that Anna did the writing on hers, she did great. Thanks for this idea and the reminder it's next weekend, better get busy!

Great cards Ali, thanks for sharing. I've been really impressed with your Christmas cards from Minted, and wouldn't mind checking them out for this years cards for our family.
Really love the approach of interviewing or asking your kids questions. Their answers are priceless and make perfect gifts.

I'm sorry to be a wet blanket, but I much prefer cards made entirely by the children themselves, no matter their skill level or age. They may be messy but they're original creations which the children will feel proud of and so will the recipients. The "cards" that you show are more like report cards, which may have their place, but surely not for greeting cards.

That's okay Barbara - everyone gets to choose their own things/ideas/ways to show love and affection.

Oh, I love these! Thanks so much for sharing them.

My soon to be 2 yo daughter picked out a card for Daddy but our two cats usually get Dad a card, too, and I can think of some pretty stellar things to say on their behalf via this DadLibs card! :) YAY! Thanks for making my card search easy, Ali!

I think these are great. May be not as crafty as a completely homemade card but the kids still need to put a lot of thought into this card and I'm sure Dad will appreciate something showing the kids writing at this stage. Shows they were really invested in doing this.

Yes, especially for boys something they really can need - so they dont have to write tooo much :-)
    Great design, though!
