Project Life 2013 | Week Seventeen

Welcome to Project Life 2013 | Week Seventeen (April 22-28).

Going back in time a bit this week as I share some of my weeks from April and May. Most of these have been in progress and each needed a few more things (photos, words, embellishments or all three) before they were actually ready to go. I'll be sharing each of the spreads over the next few days.

As you will see, I'm not going for embellishment-user-of-the-year with these spreads. Some weeks I use quite a few and others it's just nice to have a home for those words and photos.

This week in particular uses very few embellishments. At first I thought it would be a week with no-photos but it ended up being a week where the first page of the spread are all things Simon has brought home from school recently (not necessarily all that week) and all but one were handwritten by him.

He writes in pencil most of the time so it's a little hard to read here, but you get the idea. Again, this is one of the things I love about this project - that it provides a home for this kind of ephemera.

This was one of my favorite things he brought home at the end of the school year. It was originally on one piece of paper and I cut it in two so it would fit in the 3x4 pockets. One said says, "leave behind" and the other says "start fresh" and I assume it's talking about leaving elementary and transitioning to middle school.

During the second half of this week I traveled to Portland to meet with a great group of people who I had adventured with to Ireland last fall (with Scrapmap). I loved getting to be a tourist in my own state.  The "hello Oregon" Silhouette cut was custom made for this group.

Still in love with those see-through elements.

It was also around this time that we got the Save The Date for Katie and Peter's wedding. Oh man are we ever excited about that upcoming event. Anna and I have our dresses and Simon has his suit and they are basically ready for it to happen tomorrow.

"Love this" up on the top right photo is from my Edge Sentiments Vol. 1 set.

"Heart this day" word art is from my No Day Like Today set.

These two journal cards are part of my Hello Weekend 3x4 Card Set. Those are on sale this week (along with all my Project Life journal cards) over at Designer Digitals for 30% off.
