Here's a look at how I used the Project Life kit:

A little bit of travel and lots of love with the kids this week.

Those geotag brushes are from my I Heart Travel set.

I used a Copic marker a couple times this week (Clay, E44). For my date card I added a bunch of text right on top of the card using the pen and then cut up another card (let's do this) for the title. For the date I just circled the month and then underlined the specific days this week.

One of my favorite things to make this week was a flip up card using a text transparency on top of a photo. I used a piece of washi tape to hold the two cards together and create the flip.

Because of the placement of this card I needed to cut a slit in the page protector. I used a metal ruler and a craft knife to cut a slit that was just a bit wider than the 3x4 cards.

That's what the slit looked like after I cut it and before I added the cards inside.

After cutting I was able to slip them inside the pocket, keeping the transparent piece on the outside of the page protector.

I had printed my photo with text on top previously.

I find myself really loving writing on photos lately. Such an easy way to get a bit of the story included.

    Hey Ali

Just loving the photo that you have journaled on and then put the 'Adventure' transparency over it. Very creative!

Talking about writing on your photographs, the American Crafts 'Precision Pens' are not available in South Africa. Would a normal fine point permanent black marker do the trick to? The permanent markers also only come in black which is a bit frustrating as white would be nice to.

    Have a FAB weekend Ali!

Hi Jo-Anne, I have over time found a number of pens locally that write well on photo's. Currently using the Marlin Aqua Glide. Have also found white rollerball pens (after a long search they were at a little scapbooking place in Cresta, Jhb). You have to search for them. Found great 0.5 felt tip pens at a copy shop once. Art suppliers is also a good place to look. Hope it helps!

Hi Ali, awesome page! Love how you give credit to a number of great people in your life, and always love how you balance busy photo's with ones with lots of white space (think that lighter pen also a great idea to still keep things light and airy). Also very impressed with Anna's A and how big Simon looks there next to a grown-up.

Hi Ali! Great spread this week. Quick question...is the 5 dollars just off your first month subscription or 5 off each month?

Love what you did this week. Those pictures of Simon and Anna are pure joy. I love that you got in a shot of yourself working, too.

I've been cutting slits into my protectors as well so it's easier to get at bi-fold cards on the back! That flip card looks awesome. I love any way to get more words in ;) Here's a week I did with some cutting for bifolds: http://thenerdnest.com/2013/06/project-life-2013-week-18.html

Nice! i love that transparency flip. Just wondering what type of transparency you used, and did you just print it with a normal printer?
