Katie's Project Life 2013 | Week 18

Welcome to Katie's Project Life 2013 | Week 18.

This week was busy. A very happy, though busy, week. I was preparing to leave for vacation with one of my best friends. We took a 4 night Royal Carribean cruise to the Bahamas. It was fantastic! I will post all of the trip photos in my next post.

When I went to print my photos for this week, I realized I had only taken 4 photos between Monday and Sunday. I was fine with that, because I knew there would be a lot taken in the coming weeks.

Since I didn't have very many photos, I really liked using these journal cards from Elle's Studio and the Seafoam Core Kit that have journaling prompts.

I love adding Ali's Heart Messages to photos. I used the "love" a weeks weeks ago, and cut it out on cardstock with the Silhouette. It made a great little window for the photo I placed behind it. You can find that post here.

The "high five" card is from a Studio Calico Project Life kit a couple months back. I wanted to carry that same theme over into my next page where I included a large photo of the beach.

I took this photo on the first day I arrived in Florida. My friend lives in Marco Island, and we spent the day there before leaving for Port of Miami.

Since I didn't take many photos this week, I thought this one would be the perfect photo to enlarge.

I ended up printing it on white cardstock because I really wanted to be able to cut out some words with the Silhouette. Photo paper is a little too gummy to be cut in the machine (we've tried it). It turned out awesome. I added some sequins from Studio Calico to carry some of the yellow from the left side over to the right side of the spread.

This is what the photo looked like when it printed out. I was so happy with the results. The cardstock really softened the look of the photo, almost making it look like a water color painting. I can't wait to try this out on another photo soon.

Love this! Love the sequins, everything looks so light & airy. Needed inspiration for the date cards. I went on that cruise in Feb! It's the best! i like the look of printing on cardstock too.

Lovely spread! Enlarging the big photo is just brilliant.
Can I ask a question? Which white pen did you use to write on the yellow4x6 card?

      Thanks Ayesha!
The white pen I used is the Uni-ball Signo white pigment pen.

Love the large picture of Florida! My only concern would be fading. I have just noticed when I printed photos on card stock instead of photo paper, they seem to fade a lot even after only 1 year. Is there a certain card stock made for printing photos that won't fade that you know of? Love seeing your project Life so much! Can't wait to see wedding photos!!

Love the enlarged photo. Which font did you use for the Silhouette? I have been trying to find a good font for this purpose. Thanks!

    Hey Katie,

I've cut photo paper in my Silhouette with no problems - I use Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II and it turns out great!

Awesome layout Katie. I love how you made the RHS work as a 12x12 but also how you made each of those Design A pockets work on their own. Bringing it together is what makes it so cool!!
