Summer Voices | Elizabeth Kartchner

We’re on summer holiday and we’ve invited some of our friends to share their voices and projects here over the next 2 weeks. Say hello to Elizabeth Kartchner:

If you remember my Dear Summer post with those pics of my Avery girl  I mentioned that I was putting together a mini book slash journal for her this summer. And I got a bit carried away with turning the journal into a scrapbook as well but it only adds to her creative writing.
Dear Summer is a place for her to record her adventures and for me to add photos plus cuteify. Best of both worlds.

I used a lot of my Dear Lizzy products: the polka dot vellum, patterned paper, badges etc

Face painting photo from her birthday party the end of May… Definitely a great way to kick off turning seven and summer! Collin was lighting her birthday candles on her fairy house cake (need to post pics of it!) and all her friends scurried and played around her while she was deep in thought. I wish I could know what she was thinking…

From me to you. This is a book to record your adventures, dreams and all the fun things you’ll experience the summer you were seven years old. So many magical things can happen if you are looking. Love, your momma

Flowers she picked for me…

My diecut cards are so fun for mini albums to see through to the next page…

A little bag for keepsakes…

The back has the pages for her writing. Each one starts “Dear Summer” I have a clip holding the pages for now but I am going to sew them all down to the back of the book once she is finished. The paper I used is really thin so I am hoping my plan still works in the end. Otherwise I will just punch holes and add the pages to the ring.

ABOUT ELIZABETH | When I am not chasing my kiddos, or doing those "mom" things that would make my 16 year old self laugh, you can find me in my studio. Definitely my escape where I am creating, blogging or working on my newest Dear Lizzy line of products. This month I will release my seventh Dear Lizzy collection, "Polka Dot Party", through American Crafts at CHA.
I've scrapbooked since I was a little girl and technically started my first album in 5th grade... and it's grand. Just in time to document boy crushes and soccer games. But I would have never pictured that I would get to do such great things with this incredible hobby. I started by winning Creating Keepsakes's Scrapbooker of the Year in 2007. From there, I staring writing a monthly article in CK called "Dear Lizzy" and a published book 52 More Scrapbooking Challenges. In 2012, I released another book through the Signature Series. I have been blessed to meet scrapbookers all over the world through traveling and my blog: Dear Lizzy. This hobby is definitely so much more to me than paper and glue.
I married my first date and best friend, Collin, almost eleven years ago. I am a mother to three darling girls and I just got my boy this past April. I'm pretty much obsessed with him. I also enjoy photography, fashion and being with my family.
