Found In The Office | Two Scrapbook Layouts

AE_LittleMissAnnaPants_CloseUp1

While doing some clean up around here recently I came across two layouts I made in the last couple of years that I haven't shared yet.

They weren't in albums but they were in page protectors. I have no idea what I made them for originally (most layouts I create end up in a class or are shared here on this site). Most of the products aren't available anymore but the design and the storytelling are pretty universal.

And Anna is so little!

These will go into my 12x12 album for 2010 and 2011.

Here's a look at the two layouts:

Little Miss Anna Pants

First up is a two-page 8.5 x 11 spread. The first page includes instant photos taken with an Instax Mini50 (the smaller one) and an Instax 210 (the larger photos). Both are super fun instant cameras that I've posted about before with the smaller one being my favorite. The Instax 210 is really big but results in bigger photos - still totally cool but my preference is for the Instax Mini50.

Paired next to the photos on the second page is a block of journaling I created in Photshop (see the screen shot above). I created two columns of text (each in it's own text box) and varied the size of the text to make it a little more dynamic.

The journaling came from a post written here back in November 2010. I can't tell you enough how much I like to get the journaling documented here on my blog and then turn that writing into a scrapbook page when I have the time.

Also, you can see how I left space between the "just" and "her" on the second column to make room for the script glitter word from KI Memories.

I love how the words capture so many details about what was happening for her at that time in her life.

I stitched the instant photos down onto the background cardstock and added embellishments on top.

These are the kinds of layouts I think I love most - the ones with words.

That said, here's the second layout I found that's seriously lacking in the word department but I still love simply for the photos.

Birthday #2

AE_Birthday2_WebFull

This layout features photos from Anna's second birthday.

A cluster of embellishments along the side including a stamped tag, embroidered flower, clear plastic heart and some sentiment labels.

More of those clear plastic hearts (which were from Heidi Swapp a few years back) and embroidered flowers.

My little man is the the same age as Anna in your layouts, so I know what fun this age is as well as how quickly it's gone. I'm actually embarking on a video and phrases version of week in the life (his life) next week. My goal is to capture what he says in his own words. The words he misses to make up a sentence are sometimes the cutest and it's a 'document then and there' project!

Found layouts. That's better than found money that sometimes shows up the first time I put a coat on in tha fall and stick my hands in the pockets!

I love the way the darling red embellishments really POP against the B&W photos in the birthday layout. Great inspiration, such adorable pics.

So are the instax photos not like Polaroids how you can't cut them? I love my instax cameras but I wouldn't ever have sewed through the image for fear of the chemicals getting out.

Gosh! I love Anna's 2nd birthday layout. The expressions on her face is priceless! And to share a moment with big brother Simon.
I never comment on layouts too much but just had to let you know this one was great.

I see in the first layout that you have 3 dimensional words from your own handwriting, what machine did you use to get them? is it the silhouette?
    thank you,
    Tiffany
