Love The Way | Traditional Scrapbook Layout

AE_HeyAnna_CloseUp

A couple weeks ago Simon Says Stamp invited me to participate in their Stamptember™ celebration by creating a new layout using some of my Technique Tuesday stamps. I included a link from here to their blog but wanted to share the full page here as well.

Here's a look at the layout I created using my Handwritten Capitals Large and Handwritten Capitals Lowercase:

AE_HeyAnna_FullWeb

Lately I've felt really drawn to big type on layouts. Big expressions of sentiments are just fun and I tend to be someone that fills in the space. Here I repeated the phrase "Love the way..." and then added a few other words along the edge and along the bottom.

For this layout I printed a 12x12 photo of Anna playing on the floor - one that had lots of "white space" along the bottom that could become a home for my words.

Black Cherry Staz On worked great for stamping on the photo paper.

I added a metal-rimmed circle tag with a white Kelly Purkey 4 on the top of the layout and hand-wrote the date around the outside of the circle.

The "hey Anna" arrow tag (popped up with foam squares) is a combination of white Kelly Purkey letter stickers and an arrow sticker.

Freckled Fawn Washi tape along the bottom repeats the red.

So happy to see one of your layouts here. I've be missing you since the Hello Story class is over (by the way, those 12 weeks with you were awesome. I haven't done all the class layouts yet, but I promised myself that I will in the 3 coming months).

I Love this page. It has been so long since I have done a traditional scrapbook page, but lately I have been wanting to do some.

Ali, I just love it when you create and share a layout! I don't do project life, and although your album is full of ideas and great photos, your album pages really appeal to me :-)

I love this idea and your layout. My son is almost 5 and I too have recently marveled at the way he plays. The little back and forth dialogues he has while playing on his own. I have to just sit and listen to capture more.

I love the big sentiments on the layout. I realized during Hello Story that I have missed doing traditional 12x12 layouts. So in 2014 I'm going to focus more on those, and do PL a little differently - maybe monthly or year in review than a daily thing. Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Ali, Thank you for posting the materials needed, but what is that block you have the stamps lined up on? How does that work? I have never used clear stamps before. I don't see it referenced in the Simon Says listing for your sets, either. Thank you - putting your stamps on my Christmas List, but want to make sure I have everything I need to go forward.
