December Daily™ 2013 | Day Fifteen

Welcome to December Daily™ 2013 | Day Fifteen.

Can you guys believe how fast this month is flying by?

Today for me was all about wrapping. I don't mind wrapping I just really don't like taking care of it at the last minute so I was pretty darn happy to carve out some time for it today. Tonight I'm heading out on a movie date after getting this post all ready to go (we saw the Hunger Games movie last week and tonight we're going to see Dallas Buyers Club).

How are things going for you and this project? I've found a simple rhythm for myself that will work until all our family gets together at the end of this week. At that point I might have to adjust my posting schedule a bit to be able to fully embrace my time with them.

Here's a look at my Day Fifteen:

That green cast at the bottom of this photo? That would be my green jeans - yes, very festive around here.

To highlight my topic today I added the word "wrap" using wood veneer letters from the Studio Calico kit.

I've gotten quite a few questions recently about what printer I'm using. For all my 4x6 and smaller images I'm using an Epson PictureMate Show. I've had it for a couple years now and I use it for all my Project Life photos. I seriously love it and just bought one for Katie for Christmas to have at her house.

I use it connected to my main computer in my office and print photos every couple of days for Project Life when I'm on top of it.

A 3x4 journal card tells the story of today next to a transparent merry and bright card.

I added a label (printable from the Studio Calico kit) + a gold star right on top of the photo to cover up a special present.

I stitched a bit of the green ribbon along the bottom of the journal card and adhered a portion of the 15 gold clip along the top.

Happy Monday!

Snap! at thats a wrap Ali! My day 15 is all about gift wrapping also. Snap! also to the finding a rhythm and so far its been stress free, even with undertaking 4 December Daily albums. Participating in December Daily has really helped with my awareness during the Festive Season and of course the balance between work, entertaining, being organised and blogging, totally loving the whole experience.

Ooooh, I love this idea of including the wrapping you're using! I've just had a delivery of bakers twine, tiny individually wrapped candycanes and little gold clothes pegs. I'm going to handwrite black gift tags in gold and seal the deal with craft paper printed with red foil reindeers. I'm definitely going to include some pictures in my book - thanks for the idea!

I'm really pleased that I've found a groove with my Dec Daily too - I don't think I could do a 'real' album or even hybrid though. I love that I prepped my whole project in photoshop in November so on busy days I can just sling in a photo and some words and it's done.

I'm so grateful for the project - it's made me really aware of everything there is to be thankful during the holidays and everyday. x

Ali, your pages look great! I love to wrap and last year's wrapping picture has the dog under my legs while I'm trying to do it :) Anyway, happy Monday!

Love how your Dec Daily is coming together, you are documenting the stuff that life is made of. I am not keeping up, but I am recording and taking the photos...it will come together. I had to literally do ALOT of embracing this weekend - as in holding on to my family in our bath tub for dear life - a tornado hit our house with about 2 minutes warning. Thankfully we are all safe and the house has not sustained major damage - but lots of minor damage/car damage. One house next to us is untouched. Both houses directly across the small street are half roofless and condemned. At least 3 houses have more than just their Christmas tree now indoors as they fell through the roof and various doors. No one hurt, a Christmas miracle. I sure will have a (fingers crossed) one of a kind story to put in my Dec Daily for 12/14.

Love the wrap tag and the transparency. Your pages are always inspiring. This page also reminds me that I really need to get the family gifts wrapped this week before we go visit.

I just love how you're doing your album this year Ali! I say spend time with your family and let the DD posts happen when they may. The DD will always be there, waiting patiently to hold all the memories you're making with your loved ones.

I like to wrap too but I'm so behind this yr. Next to nothing done. Oh well. I really like this project idea. I started reading your blog too late but that should give me just enough time to catch on for next yr. Hopefully! Enjoy the movie I heard it was very good. Michelle t.

Love your page!! I am actually keeping up with DD, I can't believe it, lol. My album is so super simple and I feel awkward and inadequate sharing any pages, but I'm enjoying it. I'm already thinking about how I want to adjust the project for next year, haha (since this is my first year doing it).

We wrapped a bunch of gifts yesterday, also! How funny. Only ones left are ones still coming in the mail.

I'm looking forward to this Thursday when things kick into overdrive so I'll have more stories to tell for December. It's been a lot of life as usual at my house until now, with a few sprinklings of Christmas cheer.

Ali, are you still using your Selphy printer?

No. I bought one model a few years back and didn't use it because it didn't print true 4x6 photos (the prints were smaller than 4x6). I know there are lots of people who like it and maybe other models print true 4x6 but that was an important part to me.

I love the star cut out frame but was thinking how great it would look if you did the reverse image so both sides have the glitter paper look vice one side glitter paper and the other plain whit. I think it works well with this kind of cut and maybe not so well with words since they are backwards anyway. Out of town for business this week so taking notes and will have to do some catchup. Thanks for your great inspiration!

How do you get the white border on your photos?

The printer I use has the option to print with or without a border.

    Ali,
Thank you for always showing your amazing work.. I am trying to follow with my SC kit. What would you recommend I do, if one day we have several (pages) of meaningful stories, but then there are days that it is business as usual...

It's up to you - you can include business as usual stories in this album if you want :). Or you can just include stories about holiday-related events. It's really up to you. I try to have something for each day whether it's Christmas or not as a record on things happening around here each year.

hi Ali!! Love your wrapping and the photo and the little tag to Simon...and....and....and!! Quick question. What kind of photo paper do you use to print off your photos at home and do you think it really matters with the photo paper you use and the quality of the photo if you choose to print at home? Just wonder. Wow!!! Does that even make sense? I am SO tired right now and I think it is only 9PM, but the days are long with so much to do and just not accomplishing much as I would like in the day. Sad to say, but I can't even find the time to work on my DD!! But can't wait to see your entry every day. That is the very first thing that I do when I get up!! LOVE IT!!! THANKS!!

I use photo paper from Epson that's designed for my printer (I think it's Epson glossy photo paper - it comes bundled together with the ink for the Epson Picturemate Printer). I really like the quality and have been happy with it for the last two or so years now.
