December Daily™ 2013 | Day One
I can't tell you how much joy I felt today as I started this album again.
There's definitely a different feeling for me entering December this year and I'm so, so thankful. More joy, more calm, more peace.
Today was all about getting out my Christmas boxes and decor. The kids were with Chris this weekend so I had some quiet time to get it all out and start the process of "Christmasifying" our house.
Here's a look at my spread for Day One:
Most of the supplies I'm using this year are from the Studio Calico December Daily™ Kit (a few kits are still available if you want to jump on board). This includes the album, page protectors, and most of the embellishments. I will be adding a few other things here and there and will include links for you to those products when they are available.
In case you missed it here's a look at the preparations I did before December started: 2013 Foundation Pages
My Day One includes the back of a cut page protector that holds two, 3x4 cards plus a second page that includes spots for two, 3x4 inserts and a 4x6 insert. I probably won't do a spread for everyday this month but it worked for today.
Here's a look at it outside of the album:
The journal card is from my December Daily™ 3x4 Journal Card set and is printed on Epson Matte Presentation Paper.
On the 1/2 page I used some of the great gold paper + a canvas star + a sequin from the kit. Inside the label sticker I stamped "hello there" using a rolling stamp from Amy Tangerine. In the pocket below I added a photo I took outside Starbucks last week that says "create wonder/share joy." Exactly the sentiment I hope for this season.
The second part of the spread includes my journal card + a transparent 3x4 card from the kit + a white border photo. I used my new December Daily™ 4x6 Layered Template for the main photo today (includes the "magic" circle 4x6 template). On top of the photo I added two Gold Star Rub Ons.
Man, I love this.
I've set up a little workspace for this project in the room that's right outside my office. I'm using a tray from my big baking rack to hold most of the products in case I do want to bring it back in my office or to another area of the house.

I'm going to try to use the word "Christmasifying" in a sentence today! We are in that process too.
I like the idea of a December Daily work station.

Your day one looks amazing as always. I need to try and do more journaling in mine instead of just photos and embellishments.

A great start! Now I'm really curious what the templates with multiple circles will look like on a photo. :)

LOVE the idea of setting up a work space with everything in view. I'm definitely a person who needs things within sight to remember to use it.

I like the baking sheet idea! I wait until the month of December has wrapped up to do my album - it fits my life and suits my creative process better than doing it day by day - so I keep everything stashed in a basket as I go. But I like that you have all of the supplies spread out a bit more on the sheet.
Happy December!

So glad you are enjoying peace and joy! Beautiful beginning of your album. Loved to see the workstation. It's such a big help to have the space to spread things out. Enjoy these upcoming days.

Your 1st day is precious, and I wish you 24 more that are just as good or even better! So happy to see so many links...although I can't contribute right now, I am going to be a happy "looker." I have quite a few days coming up where I will be waiting while my mom receives radiation/chemo, and these links will bring some needed cheer!

Looks like a great day! I'm waiting for a day this week when I can pull all my supplies out to start my album. Can't wait to start! I hope day 1 is just the start of all the Christmas magic and joy for you and your family!
I'm currently building a place, and looking for ways that I can store projects like this... I think the baking stand is a great idea, but I was wondering if you find any drawbacks with it like getting dusty or anything like that?

HI Ali, This is my very first year of attempting December Daily whilst dong Project Life. I ahve completed day 1 & 2 and am LOVING it. Just loving that it's kinda like Project life but smaller, cuter, brighter, sparklier and kinda funner! (well it's a nice break anyway) Thank you so much for the ideas, inspiration and gorgeous designs.

I can't believe George lets you leave those things out. My cats would have them scattered from one end of the house to the other!! lol Great job, as always!! Love your album so far!!

Holiday scrapping is not really my thing for some reason, but I enjoy seeing your project. Love the tray too, having space to spread out and see things is always a plus!
