December Daily™ 2013 | Day Seven

AE_DD2013_Day7_pg2 Welcome to December Daily™ 2013 | Day Seven.

Keeping things simple today with a focus on the photos.

Here's a look at Day Seven: AE_DD2013_Day7_Spread

I decided to back the Day Six enlarged photo with another one I took on the evening of the 6th. Along the bottom of the photo I added a piece of printed holiday chipboard from Teresa Collins. AE_DD2013_Day7_InProgress

I used the border stamp that was included with the Studio Calico kit along the edge of my photo. StazOn ink is what I use when stamping on photos. Here's a close up look: AE_DD2013_Day7_closeup

Inside the stamp I added a gold letter sticker, s stamped date and a "twinkle" chipboard piece. AE_DD2013_Day7_pg2

The second page includes a cut file (included with the Studio Calico kit) and a 4x6 photo with a December Daily™ 4x6 2013 overlay on top. AE_DD2013_Day7_photo2 Hope you have a great Sunday!

I'm having problems with the December Daily™ 2013 4x6 Journal Cards and Overlays. I can't seem to use it as an overlay because the frame and date seems to have come merged with the background, When I move it on top of my photo, the white background comes with it. There doesn't seem to be any way of separating it as it is with other Ali overlays that come a psd files.

Hi Michelle and Kimberly - the package includes two different PNG folders. One is the multi-color PNG with the white background - that one was designed for people to print (a single day vs. the whole PDF of days) or add to a digital page and it would already include a background. The second PNG folder includes the black and white transparent PNG files. Those are the ones I'm using too add directly onto my photos. They can be recolored using the Edit/Fill option. Hope that helps. I tried to give people more options this year with the files.

Ali I have totally borrowed the full page photo idea to create an extra page. Just finished my day 7 and am pretty happy with how it turned out. Thanks for such a brilliant idea!

Love this! I am having problems resizing a full page photo in PSE (I'm new to it). When I set the width to 6 and then set the height to 8, it changes the width to 5.38?? Also, I think the photo might need to be slightly larger than 6x8 to fit correctly in the page protectors from SC DD Kit. What size are your full pictures?

Hmmm. No idea why it would default to another size when you are manually setting in the numbers. I am doing the full size photos that go in the pockets at 6x8 and yes they are smaller than the actual size of the pocket. I think as long as you are consistent it's fine (mainly so you don't see through to the other side - or that both things are the same size).

Hi Ali, can you tell me what size you make your cut files to fit into the 4x6 pocket. It sounds like it should be a no brainer but when I adjusted my box around my cut file to approximately 4x6 the file was actually smaller and there is extra space on both ends of the file. Does that make sense? In your picture it looks like the line under 'cheer' stretches the length of the protector. Thanks.

Hi Kim - I just measured it and there's actually about 1/2 inch of space (.25 inch on either side) of the cut. I don't remember what I sized it to originally, but these pockets are a bit bigger than 4x6.

Ali, it is such an inspiration to see the way you use the products in the SC kit each day. I know it's crazy, but I still have such a hesitancy to break into new products and start USING them (totally the perfectionist in me). I feel like you are giving me permission to use stuff and it makes me so excited. Thank you!

Awesome! Do it - permission granted - it's all about USING IT to get our stories told ;).

I've ALWAYS been in-love with your large, black and white photos... So, as soon as I snapped the up-close photo of my son... I RAN to my computer and printed it off! It's my FAVORITE layout so far this year!!! Thanks for all the inspiration! (hugs) - Leslie
