December Daily™ 2013 | Day Six

Welcome to December Daily™ 2013 | Day Six.

Seriously awesome snow day here. Snow is not something that happens every year so when it does everything pretty much stops.

This year it snowed all day. It's snowing as I type up this post.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Here's my Day Six:

AE_DD2013_Day6_Full

I decided to do a single enlarged photo (measures 7.25 x 8.5) of Anna out in the backyard. I actually took a bunch of photos today that I'm considering adding to the back - lots of what was happening around the house. I might do that tomorrow.

On top of the photo I added "bring on the snow" which was cut with the Silhouette using vellum and stitched onto the photo.

Around the outside edge of the photo I used the thin washi tape from the Studio Calico kit. I added journaling around the edge as well.

Totally did not think to add this size photo - need to think outside the page protector! Snow... all day... sounds magical.

30 years on and I still miss snow in December. This is awesome. Love the tongue hanging out. My favourite bit!

Fantastic photo and I can imagine if it doesn't happen every year when it does it must really feel like Christmas hence the song "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas". Here in Australia it's about 32 degrees 98 F so snow is not something I think of at Christmas time. Mind you in Victoria outside of Melbourne in the mountains it snowed last week but in the same week it was 32-36 degrees (90-96 F). Regards Kathy A, Brisbane, Australia

I bet you just couldn't wait to do this! Perfect photo, and what you've done is so lovely. I hope that snow makes it over the mountains to us! :-)

Adorable photo of Anna with her tongue out. Going to need to remember the silhouette cut with vellum - love the look.

My Day 6 looks a little similar with the enlarged photo and snow.

Love it! Great picture with all the white and the pop of red from her in addition to the just plain cuteness of her catching snowflakes. :)

Wow! Love the snow. We missed the snow by 30 miles. It snowed from Olympia on down I5 south. Great layout today.

I really like the idea of using washi tape to border the pics. An idea that will work for many a LO, not just holiday time.

Do you print on matte photo paper or glossy? Also how do the pictures hold up compared to printing at a costco or shutter fly? Just wondering if you have noticed any fading in past years?

Both my friend and I have your December Daily™ 2013 6x8 Journal Cards And Overlays (EL465204) and the December Daily™ 2013 4x6 Journal Cards and Overlays (EL676843).

The problem is that we can't use them as overlays over photos (as you did in day 3 of your December Daily). The frame and date are merged with the background and there's no way of separating them). I have used your overlays before a number of times and this has never happened before. I think the problem is that they are downloaded only as png or pdf files.

Is anyone else having this problem?
