One Little Word® 2014 | The List & The Reading Of The Words

AE_Thrive_LizLamoreux

One of the traditions I started a couple years back was to have my friend Liz Lamoreux record herself reading the words that people have left in the comments of my annual One Little Word® blog post.

She's back again this year and I'm super happy to have her.

Click below to hear her read the words (compiled from the list through Jan 2nd at 7pm):

LISTEN HERE

You can hear her read the 2013 list here, the 2012 list here and the 2011 list here.

Liz is a dear friend, a wonderful retreat leader, and a jewelry designer. Check out her beautiful collection of soul mantras and other stories in her etsy shop. She made a bracelet for me this year (shown above) - love mixing it up for 2014.

Registration is still open for my workshop One Little Word® (and will remain open throughout the year). The simple premise is to make your word more visible for you throughout the year with a single, focused creative prompt at the beginning of each month. Joining up is not a huge time commitment over the course of the year and you don’t have to be into scrapbooking to participate.

My 9-year-old has decided to join me on this journey. At first, she was going to pick her own name, which I think is quite profound! Then she thought some more and decided on: "Selfie." Love!

I'm a little late to the game, as it took me a while to narrow it down, but I've finally decided on CALM. And I think it's going to be a little harder than it sounds.

Here's my blog post on the subject: http://www.thebauerbunch.com/2014/01/one-little-word.html

My OLW this year is ADVENTURE... my life fell apart in 2013 and even though my kids and I have been through Hell, I'm choosing to start 2014 with a positive outlook. My only resolution this year was to say "yes" to anything that could be seen as an adventure. I'm hopeful that it will lead to a little fun, a little failure, a lot of living, and no regrets.

My One Little Word is BECOMING! What does that mean exactly? Well, I'm looking for methodologies/teachings that I can incorporate in my life to become the best parent, teacher, blogger, etc. that I can be--in other words, I'm looking for new concepts/ideas to improve in each of the roles I have taken on in my life.

I always love hearing the words spoken out loud by Liz. It's really quite emotional for me to hear all the words that other people have chosen--what amazing stories are surely behind the reasons why those particular words will be lived with for a year.

Thank you for continuing that tradition!

My word is EASE. As in, ease into life, let things happen, breathe, be rather than force, push etc. Also, I think of EASE as reminding me to be easy on myself (and others).
Thanks for the list Ali. Lots of inspiration.

My word is WAIT. Because waiting is sometimes and for me all the time something that needs work. When you wait you are doing something. Something big.
    Wait.
