Welcome to Katie's Project Life® 2014 | Weeks 4, 5 and 6

WHAT WE DID IN WEEK 4 | Anna stayed with us for three nights while Ali took Simon to Disneyland for his birthday. We had so much fun together playing with makeup, eating spaghetti and listening to the Frozen soundtrack on repeat. She's my kind of girl. Over the weekend we went with our friends to Central Oregon and had fun lunching, shopping, and exploring the beautiful city of Bend. They are getting married this summer so it has been so much fun to help plan another wedding.

For the date card this week I stapled a transparency from a Kelly Purkey Kit to a blank 4x6 card, then added the dates with a date stamp. Most of the cards and embellishments are from the Studio Calico Sugar Rush Project Life® Kit and a previous Kelly Purkey project kit.

It's been fun playing around with larger vertical photos with the Design G page protectors. I added journaling on the photo in the top right corner in Photoshop.

I stamped directly on the photo using a light pink ink from Memento Luxe called Angel Pink and stamp from a Kelly Purkey kit.  Love how it turned out.

WEEKS 5 & 6:

KJ_PL2014_WK5_6_SPREAD

WHAT WE DID IN WEEKS 5 AND 6 | So much happened during these two weeks. Charlotte (our puppy) was spayed and those were an eventful few days trying to keep her calm! My parents and I headed to Portland for a family hair cut and color day. My sister does our hair about every 1.5 months and its fun to all travel up there together and make a day out of it. We went to the photo booth at the ACE hotel and had lunch at Kenny and Zukes. Eugene was hit by a major ice and snow storm where we were all trapped in our houses for a few days. Thankfully we bought a new SUV right before it hit, so we were able to drive short distances. I had some fun buying my mom all new makeup and giving her some tips on my 10 minute make up routine.

I included half of a Design C page protector (cut in half) for the insert this week. I included 3 photos on the front of the insert (pictured in the first photo above.) On the back I added some 4x6 journal cards from Elle's Studio and a filler card. KJ_WK5_6_CLOSE

I cut some of Elle's Studio super cute "Dots and Hearts" paper to 4x6 size. I stamped one of Ali's Life Banners (here are some similar ones) and added Zing Embossing powder in Silver Metallic. I adhered it to the paper with a few foam dots to pop it up off the page.

The date card is from Elle's Studio's Journaling Tags. I used a date stamp + a stamp from Ali's Just Awesome stamp set.

I stamped "SISTERS" directly on the photo of our photobooth strips using Memento Luxe Ink in Wedding DressAli's Relative Banners stamps. The card with the hearts is from Elle's Studio.

I added one of Heidi Swapp's Glitter Word Stickers to the photo of my Mom and I. I've been so used to using gold embellishments lately that it was fun to play around with silver this week.

I stitched the paper strip of hearts onto the photo in the upper right hand corner that matched the journal card on the previous page. That little strip is from the bottom of this paper from Elle's Studio.

It feels super good to be making forward progress on 2014.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Do you have any issues with this page protector style having true 4x6 or 3x4 pockets? I had trouble with the couple I had.

I had a few older Design G page protectors that had some size issues. I ordered a new pack of them on Amazon a few weeks ago and they all seem to be fine.

I love the ink color you stamped on the photo booth pics. That's awesome, so is the pink ink too. Wish list! I did finally teach myself to hand stitch using a back stitch and a Sew Easy tool. I love how it looks on layouts. Your embellishments choices are always pretty. Michelle t

Looks fantastic Katie! I love all the ways you used to tie it all together. I always feel that I need to tie them together when I'm editing my photos and adding elements digitally. Love the way you did this with stamps and paper - my true loves, which might be why it clicked so well with me! Thanks!!

Love the design G page protectors! Do you find when you print iPhone photos 4x6, they come out grainy??
