Katie's Project Life® 2014 | Weeks 7 and 8
Welcome to Katie's Project Life® 2014 | Weeks 7 and 8
WHAT WE DID IN WEEK 7 | This week I was inspired by Elise to hold my own Instagram sale. I have been finding a lot of really awesome things at the thrift store lately and so I wanted to give it a try. I currently have an empty Etsy shop that I'm hoping to fill sooner rather than later with vintage goodies, but for now these short insta-sales are super fun.
I'm going to be doing another one within the next few months. If you want to follow along, my Instagram account for these quick sales is @katefindsvintage
Valentines day also happened during this week, and Pete surprised me by cleaning the whole house and doing laundry-- what a guy. We had a fun night with friends full of champagne and good music.
I got my Studio Calico Office Hours Project Life® Kit in the mail the other day and had fun using quite a few of the embellishments and cards for this spread.
I so love having a small group of embellishments to pull from. It helps me stay focused and not dwell too much on what I should choose to include on my photos.
I used Silver Metallic Zing + Elle's Studio Wood Veneer to create the "currently" numbered card.
The "Hello Sunshine" is a Watercolor Die Cut from the Office Hours kit. I ended up using Memento Luxe ink in Angel Pink to add color to it vs watercolors. The material of this absorbed the ink really well and didn't smear.
The awesome metallic star card is from mambi. The "husband" circle is from a set of cards from Paislee Press + Studio Calico.
The "Play All Day" (cut from a journal card), those cute little blue hearts and the cork circles are from the Office Hours Kit.
WEEK 8:
WHAT WE DID IN WEEK 8 | I didn't take too many photos this week--which made me happy I was using a smaller page protector. One exciting that happened during this week was that I finished my 2013 Project Life® album. I did a major happy dance when that was over. It felt so good to be done. We had a fun weekend adventure to Voo Doo Doughnuts. Its a famous Portland doughnut place that also has a location in Eugene (lucky us!)
I included a scanned image of my two drivers licenses next to eachother (old name and new name) because I needed to turn in proof of my name change to keep getting credit for miles on United Airlines. It was fun to see them side by side.
For the date card this week I included a card from the Studio Calico Sugar Rush Project Life® Kit and punched out some star shapes using the Martha Stewart All Over Star punch.
I blurred out a text message conversation that I took a screen shot of for family privacy.
I included some fun chalkboard banner stickers from American Crafts and used a chalk pen to write on them. Both of these things were included in the "Spreadsheet" Project Life® add on from Studio Calico.
The "heart this" wood veener is from Elle's Studio. The "Go On An Adventure" is from a set of transparencies from Studio Calico. I stapled it on top of a photo of a bunch of doughnuts from our visit to Voo Doo. The "hello" banner is from Ali's Banner Me Vol. 01 that I printed and cut out.
Let me just say how much more fun it is to be working on Project Life when everything is still current. I played my fair share of catch-up for 2013 and it feels really nice to not have to think so hard to try and remember what happened every week. Now hopefully I can keep this pace up!
Hope you all have a lovely and relaxing weekend!

Katie...loved it! I loved the idea of punching stars out of your card. Thanks for the inspiration. Time to catch up before beginning my visit to my 93 year old Nana. I love adding pics of our visits in my project life.

I was wondering what you photoshop your photos with? My photos are colorful and yours seem a little washed out. I love that look.
