Project Life® 2014 | Week Four
Welcome to Project Life® 2014 | Week Four (January 20th through January 26th).
Most of the journaling for this week came from this post: The 12th Birthday Surprise.
I included two 6x12 divided page protector inserts to include additional photos and stuff from our Disney trip. One was just cut from a full-page Design A page protector and the other is a 3-pocket 6x12.
Here's a look at the spread without the inserts:
Lots and lots of words that all came from this post.
A closer look:
Messy Weekly lines are the way I'm starting each week in 2014 (seen on the top left photo).
The first 3x4 card is from the Midnight PL kit. "So this happened" is from the Plus One Mini Kit. Wood star + metal rimmed circle tag + some great large glitter numbers from MAMBI.
The fourth 3x4 pocket starts my journaling about the trip that continues on in the next three 3x4 pockets.
"Hello Magic" is from my This Is Magic digital set and was cut with the Silhouette.
Underneath in the 3x4 pockets I added our room keys and tickets and stitched across the top of those pockets to keep them in place.
This week I put an embellishment on the outside of the page protector. I don't usually do that but it made sense with these foam stickers from Amy Tan's Plus One collection.
I also added 1, 2, 3 letter stickers from Kelly Purkey/Simon Says Stamp to white canvas tabs to show the three different times we rode the Cars ride at California Adventure.
I love these stickers.
I showed them recently in my Supply Replenishment | No.1 post.
The journaling was printed on Elle's Studio This Moment Paper.
For the "You Are Loved" journal card I used a stamp from my All My Love stamp set + Gold Zing Glitter Embossing Powder.

I had to smile at the cake and candles photo...little sister's face is priceless. Thanks for the inspiration, my husband and I are going to Disneyworld with out two twenty-something daughters soon. I wasn't sure how to approach the scrapbook or PL, now that we are all adults. You reminded me it can be simple and capture the fun without a lot of embellishments. Thanks.

I always take away a lot of inspiration from your PL layouts Ali - whether l am actively working on a PL style project or not.
I'm having a little break from things whilst other parts of life are busy, but continue to dream up and think through potential projects. :)
PS love those new Amy Tan stickers!

There's so much going on in this LO but it flows so nicely. The blue really carries it, from the pool, Simon's jacket, the blue car, etc. I wish it would always work that way with pocket pages, I seem to always have conflicting colors!

Ali, how do you print your journaling on the 3 x 4 cards? I need an extra amount of journaling from my last trip and would like to computer journal. Thanks!!

I absolutely love how your journaling is always so balanced with your photos in your spreads. I find myself struggling with that. More often than not my photos dominate my spread. Still trying to find my balance!
