Project Life® 2014 | Week Fourteen

I love repetition.

Loved it yesterday, love it today and will likely love it tomorrow.

Today I'm sharing Week Fourteen of Project Life® which was a part of my recent article in Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine.

Something I love to do every once in awhile with Project Life is to use all those 3x4 card sposts to record something each day of the week. This is made super easy with all the day of the week products available (stamps, stickers, etc). You can see another example of this technique here: PL 2013 | Week 22.

For this week I used die cuts that were a part of Amy Tan's Plus One collection and stitched them onto white 3x4 cards.

Those day of the week die cuts seem to be sold out everywhere now so we don't have an active link to them. Instead you could use something like this Day Of The Week stamp set I designed for Technique Tuesday.

The words people. It's so much a part of this whole experience.

REMEMBER | You don't have to be a "writer," you just have to be willing to write.

I also used a bunch of embellishments from Me And My Big Ideas but overall kept it pretty simple.

Green puffy hello sticker? Awesome.

That "YAY" sticker can be found in this set: Time To Celebrate.

ACTION ITEMS/IDEAS

  • Set yourself up to get some more words by creating a series of seven journal cards - one for each day of the week. Use stamps or die cuts or letter stickers and simply add the day of the week to the top of each card.

  • Remember that you don't have to try to squeeze in every single photo you take. Be selective. Look for shots that give a glimpse at your day.

The "extras" in this layout are just...YES.

How fun would it be to play off those die cut days of the week and DIY your own using watercolor?! (I think trying that is my very near future.)

And that YAY sticker in the amazing Budmo Jiggler font is pure genius.

Love how simple but colorful this spread is and that you were honest about not remembering what happened every single day. ;)

My first year of doing Project Life, I did this every week and I LOVED the results! So fun to go back and read plus it was so simple. I love using a photo as your 'title card' though - that was one thing I didn't like about my first run-through. The 4x6 title card felt like wasted space, even though I often embellished it.

I have the pleasure of visiting Portland this week...what a lovely city you have! Funny to recognize locations from years of looking at your photos....

Thought I would "jump" in to making a Project Life album. I really love your style and the look of your pages. Do you put your embellishments on the inside or outside of the pockets, or both? I can't tell from the photos.
    Thanks!

Hi Debby - I do almost everything inside of the page protector with either a photo or card as my base.

Really like how the LOVE THIS heart in the upper right looks like a continuation of the grass. The YAY sticker is a fun eye catching embellishment. The repetition of the weekly cards looks awesome!!

You could also use the Heidi Swapp Color Magic alphas in place of the YAY sticker:

(I saw you use them on another layout and am totally obsessed -- got 3 packs!!)

This is such a good idea to have each day of the week on a separate small journal card, will definitely be trying this for next week's spread!

Love the repetition on this page. You're pages really are some of my favourites around the internet. I've always thought the repetition is awesome, but never seem to end up doing it on my own layouts.

My biggest challenge with PL life is to leave out photo's I like. Just don't know the selftalk to do in such a case. Perhaps I should say something like: look how great Ali's pages look because she doesn't have to include every possible photo :)

You can do it! My self-talk goes something like - "stick it in there and be done." HA.
