Video | A Closer Look At The 2014 Week In The Life Kit

Hey everyone! It's Katie. Ali is off traveling in Peru right now, and I wanted to pop in and share this video. This video will give you a closer look at the items that are available in the first ever Week In The Life Kit

Week In The Life will be happening October 27- November 2nd. We can't wait to see what you all create with this kit!

If you would like more information on this project click here

EDIT | I just want to add that these albums are specific to the WITL kit, and even though they are similar, this is not an official unveiling of the new Studio Calico Handbooks. When the time comes, they will be revealing them to you guys. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused!

Week In The Life Digital Products are now available in the shop

Two sizes of layered templates are offered this year: 6x8 and 8.5x11, as well as 4x6 overlays and some Week In The Life themed word art

Great video - I'd love to see one for the DD kit.

Any chance that the 3x8 cards will be offered as templates to match the current templates?

I love the digital WITL for this year. Do you know if there are plans for a 12x12 template kit? I remember in the past that sometimes the different sizes roll out in different dates. If not I will purchase whatever would be the best fit, but if there will be a 12x12 I would wait for it. Thanks!

Hi, I would love to order the kit, but would like to pay with paypal. I thought a while ago that was in the works. Could that still happen in time for shipping? Thanks!

Hi Marjorie, What kind of words would you like to see, and in what language? We are always open to suggestions!

      Thank you for listening, Katie.

Days of the week in French would be great ("Lundi","Mardi", Mercredi", "jeudi", "vendredi", "samedi" et "dimanche") and months (if only "Octobre" and "Novembre") as well as a few phrases: "en ce moment", "aujourd'hui", "maintenant", "Demain est un autre jour", "à chaque jour suffit sa peine", "jour extra/ordinaire", "la routine", "quotidien", "hebdomadaire", "A cette heure-ci", "là", "instant", "c'est la/ma/notre vie", "matin", "après-midi" "Soir"--oops, haha, I got carried away, I'm sorry!) would be seriously awesome!

      Thank you again!

That would be really great for us from Quebec (Canada), since we mainly speak french on a day-to-day basis. And by the way, how about doing it also for DD? I certainly wouldn't mind paying for it. It would be nice to have words and expressions like "Décembre au jour le jour", "Le compte à rebours est commencé", "Petit papa Noël", "Vive le vent", "Le p'tit renne au nez rouge", and so on, and so on, and so on. ;-)

Can we edit the dates on the templates and overlays? I want them, but I'm doing WITL a different week then Ali is.

I just opened up my template set in Photoshop, and you could definitely change the date on the days of the week layered templates (which look essentially the same as the overlays). The date layer is not an editable text layer, but you could delete it, and then type in your own date. It might be hard to make the font match exactly, but it would be doable.

Ali, Thank you so much for continuing with the digital templates in the 8.5x11 size! I was very tempted to switch to 6x8 this year, but I kept grappling with how easy it is to slip school papers and other standard letter-sized documents into the 8.5x11 page protectors. I didn't want to give that up! :)

Thanks so much for the video while we wait for our kits to arrive. I so wish you had put down a colored sheet on the table instead of the white table. Would have been much easier to see the items I think.

Thanks for the video and the kit has arrived in excellent time to the UK. I LOVE the kit but there actually aren't enough of the correct page protectors to follow Ali's plan and keep all the weeks the same, the variety pack came with 2x2 squares and the 3x4/6x4 combination where we would need another of the 4 3x4 protectors and another of the 2 6x4 protectors; I presume Studio Calico will sell these protectors in due course so it's not the world but I just would have thought they would have arrived as stated.

Hey Leonie - so glad you got it! I will just be substituting those 2x2 page protectors in for the other two :). We go with the flow! I'll share a revised plan when I get home from traveling.

Hi Katie. This will be my first time doing Week in the Life and I am really excited. Thanks for the super helpful video. There is one thing I'm confused by, though: the stamps! In the video, it looks like the stamps are flat, like stickers. How do you use these? Can you demonstrate actually stamping them? Thanks in advance for your help with my question.

Susy and Katie, thank you so much. I so appreciate how kind and helpful this community is. Susy, the video was really helpful. I have only ever used traditional rubber stamps, so I was mystified when I saw the stamps in the kit. Now I'm really excited to try acrylic stamps and I'm off now to order an acrylic block.

Woo Hoo!!!! Mine arrived earlier this week. I was like a kid on Christmas morning opening it up! Waited until I had time when hubs and kiddo were out and sat at the table opening it piece.by.piece. But...so sad to say that my handbook is all crumbled up! The fabric on the spine is loose and the corners are all crunched. Other than that, it is one super-fab kit and I.CANNOT.WAIT! How can I go about getting a replacement handbook? ps Fab job on the video Katie!
