Give Sunday | 08
This year, in honor of my One Little Word® "give," I'm sharing a hand-drawn quote each Sunday here on my blog.
Joan Didion is one of my favorite writers. Raw. To the point. Real. You can listen to an interview with her that aired on Fresh Air back in 2005 - Writing A Story After An Ending - where she talks about her memoir The Year Of Magical Thinking about the time in her life after the death of her husband. In the interview she says, "I don't actually process anything until I write it down." This interview is very much about death and loss - and might be a tough listen for some people depending on your life situation.

Have a wonderful Sunday.
The Year of Magical Thinking is such a powerful, thoughtful book. I read it years ago and remember it to this day. Maybe it's time for a revisit?

Beautiful quote. I will find the "right day" to listen to Ms Didion's interview - perhaps a day when I am feeling stronger emotionally - the death of my mom and mother in law is still so very raw. Can't wait to check out the new OLW prompt later today ...

There was a great NY Times article about telling our stories and how it changes our experiences. Here is the link.http://well.blogs.nytimes.com//2015/01/19/writing-your-way-to-happiness/
You can write your way to happiness. Right up your alley.
