December Daily® 2016 | Days 22 & 23

Welcome to  December Daily® 2016 | Days 22 & 23.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday and thank you for your patience as I celebrated and made a little merry around here.

I finished up my album today and will be sharing the last four days in two parts - one today that includes Days 22 and 23 and then one final post in the next couple of days that includes Days 24 and 25.

I approached Days 22 and 23 together as those two days were filled of much of the same: shopping, cooking, and hanging out with Aaron. One journal card was enough to cover the simple story I wanted to tell about what we did on those days.

Here's a look at what Day 22 turned out looking like:

The top "Frango" pocket is from candy packaging that we've been eating over the course of the month (my parents dropped them off early in the month and we made them last by hiding them up in the pantry). I took a photo of a bunch of our Christmas cards (taped up on a large chalkboard in our main eating area) and added the white chipboard #22 from the Main Kit on top.

In the video below you'll hear me talk about the simplicity of these days and how I love that part about them. Some days are just about filing in the pockets and other days are about getting creative and other days are focused on the photos or words or the dance of the two together.

Here's a look at what the two days looked like together:

For Day 23 I enlarged a photo I took of our adventure to Costco ( living dangerously I tell you) and added a chipboard star, a chipboard #23 and a couple of printed phrases ("Costco is much more fun together." and "Love these preparation days.").

I love how you express your delight in the "just being together" part of the new stage of your relationship. It is so much how I felt about grocery shopping, washing dishes, cooking, and even driving together when I started a new relationship a couple of years ago. I'm so happy for you.

Thank you Ali for your infectious spirit with this project. I have lots of December Daily albums tucked away, and this is my most favorite project of all. This is the one that gives me the most joy. That being said, I almost didn't complete it this year - in fact, I put everything away. I was facing some possibly scary health issues, and just didn't feel in the spirit of celebrating. However, every day I watched your videos, read your stories, and heard your words ringing in my ears about telling stories and the importance of telling stories. Your words changed my mind, and I figured good or bad, my family and I deserved to be able to look back at this snapshot of time. So THANK YOU for your words. My album is done and I feel so thankful I listened to your message. I wish you and your family a happy new year!

Love this simple spread. I always get great ideas for the layouts you share (eg: photo of the grocery cart tells a story for sure!).
I'd love to know what brand of washi tape you use to hang your christmas cards. I've found the kinds I have aren't strong enough and all my cards kept falling down when I tried a similar way of hanging them. Please share:)
    Thanks!
