Project Life 2012 | Week Forty-Three

Welcome to Project Life 2012 | Week Forty-Three.

This was one of those weeks where I wondered to myself "what in the heck did I do last week?" I didn't take a lot of photos early in the week and didn't write down what was happening either. Not a great combination for memory keeping.

I feel like I'm still getting back in touch with life here after being gone.

As I was working on this week today here's the thought that came to mind: I'd rather go really simple and get it done vs. letting it go for some "other time" when I could add more (could be more stories, more photos, or more embellishments). I've got a self-imposed deadline for myself to get it posted within a week and I think overall that's a good approach for me.

Have you set up a system for yourself?

I'm also so ready to be in a routine as we head into the holidays. I'm heading in that direction and it feels good.

Here's a closer look at Week 43:

Day of the week pattern paper is Amy Tangerine's To Do List.

Font I used on the photo of Anna is called Bebas Neue.

Journal card is from my The Story Of Today set (I also used this on the second page) printed on white cardstock.

Can't ever go wrong adding in a bit of Anna's art.

The second half of the week is really all about Jessica and Gabrielle arriving.

I used Educational Insights lowercase stamp set for "storm coverage" - still one of my favorite stamp sets. "Fri." is from a great Jenni Bowlin days of the week stamp set.

That photo of Anna pulling a face in the car is the cutest!!!! The leaf rubbing is pretty awesome too. I think that it's so great that you stick to this even when you haven't taken many photos or journalled much throughout the week.

The 'system' that works best for me- I used Publisher to create a file that prints on a 4x6 index card... A template of two Design A's side-by-side. I have them preprint them and jot 'what' I want to go in each slot. Then when I print, gather tidbits, and con my husband in to writing moments... It takes an hour to finish a week!

The gorls look so happy together!
During the year I have been about 5 weeks behind on a couple of occasions then caught up. Will have to set myself a time limit lol! I have caught up again as far as the Ireland trip.....just photos so far, journalling still needs to be done. The week after coming home was full of family problems I really don't want to document so it will be the only week of the year that won't be in my album. Last week was pretty much back to normal so I am (almost) back on track.

great week, as always! i'm trying to get more into a routine of printing photos twice a week and jotting down stories once i insert my photos. it's been working for the last few weeks, but before that i was all over the map and really fell off with my weekly layouts. thanks for sharing!

I like your simple week, cute pictures of the girls! My time limit is usually 1 to 2 weeks, sometimes it happens due to ordering issues but I'd say this is the best year I've had since doing this 3 years ago. Always good to see your Pl pages!!

I need to be more firm about my deadlines. I don't print at home so it is a little bit harder for me to stick to a firm deadline.

I always gave myself a deadline of finishing the previous week by Friday. I was doing really well with that until the summer and I have never really recovered! I've been doing 2 and 3 weeks at at a time ever since and to be honest, it's stressing me out a little but I'm getting it done which is a good feeling!

When I lose my mojo I also come and look at what you've done. You have really inspried me to keep it going this year. Thanks for that! =)

    Have a great weekend!

I do not have a system and it drives me crazy. That is next on the agenda.

i find the month system works way better for me as opposed to the week. i really like using the different sized page protectos so being able to move the month around among several different size options is much better for me. so now i only have 12 self imposed deadlines. :-)

Like you, I try to keep a deadline (each wednesday for the previous week) and I do not want (and cannot) spend more than 1 hour - 1 hour 1/2 for my weekly layouts. At the beggining, I used to spent lots of time on it (wanted to do many things (embellishments, create journaling cards, etc.), but eventually I was not more satisfied). Now, I keep it simple (and that's the way PL is done, and it's perfect for me). I don't consider it as an "artistic" album per se, but as a real scrapbook "family-memories-album", and that works perfectly for me. Love your layout, as usual!
