Good morning.

Happy Monday morning from beautiful British Columbia - just here in the Vancouver airport waiting for my flight home.

I am not sure I can even begin to express how excited I am about the fundraiser badge. Watching it on my phone over the last few days - obsessively watching it over the last few days - has been so exciting and crazy and wonderful (for some reason we could not get the internet to work in our hotel). You guys are doing awesome things - reaching that original goal of 1000...wow. Over the top cool. Thank you.

Autism Speaks is also featuring the badge on their site: click here.

Five more days. Let's keep the momentum going, keep the numbers rising through the end on Saturday night.

Donna, Claudine and I have been here since Thursday for one of the coolest events I have attended: ARTistry. The thing that was so cool and different was the mixture of collage artists and scrapbookers. People who had never scrapbooked before were scrapbooking and people who had never done collage before we getting to experience that through Claudine. I think people left really inspired all around - I know I was inspired just by being in that environment of sharing ideas and techniques and different ways to tell our stories.

Last night after everything was done, Christina, Donna, Claudine and I watched Claudine's new DVD about using beeswax in collage - it was so cool. After I finish up my book I am planning to dive into some experiments and play. The video was great (especially after getting to spend the weekend with Claudine) - we especially loved the out-takes at the end.

Excited to get home today and back into my groove.

Thank you again for spreading the word and giving of yourself.

    amazing.
that badge is sort of a mini-interactive
scrapbook page .... reaching out, telling a
story, getting a response from others.
    what a wonderful adventure.

Larry King the other night was all about autism. Bill Cosby, Toni Braxton and others were on, as well as the founder of Autism Speaks. It was a good show to increase awareness!

    Hi Ali -
The numbers are unbelievable - had to check this AM from work. Coincidentally (?), I have daily quotes coming in on email and this is the one for today...
“The moment one definitely commits oneself, the providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way."

Ali - THANKS for the great classes in Vancouver this weekend. Great to meet you. Great to spend time with your creative brain. I forgot to give you the money for the badge!! I'm going to wire it to Laura this morning and get some donations up there. You are truly an inspiration. Thanks.

Great Ali! I'm so glad the badge is on the Autism Speaks site. Perfect! It is so amazing that in our place/time we can reach across this wire/wireless and really make an impact sharing ideas, values and actions with people we never even knew. A few (10+) years ago I made a statement about the underutilization of the internet. That is no longer true, as evidenced by this situation. Congratulations to you and all the families who will be doing a little dance of excitment in a few more days! Molly

I am so excited for how well your badge is doing! I know I have seen it mentioned in many scrap chat rooms: from Big Picture Scrapbooking's Heidi Swapp class to Personalscrapper.com... everyone is helping you to be #1 and I think IT ROCKS! The scrap community is so giving and I am so proud to be a member of it. Keep up the GREAT work.

I am in the middle of watching the new Beeswax DVD from Claudine and I love it! I wanted to go right out and get a little crock pot and PLAY! I love how easy it is to take off the papers with just a little heat... and the melting of the crayons! So excited you are in that creative environment and hanging out with Donna and Claudine. I sooo wish I could attend this as I love mixed media combined with scrapbooking. I haven't done as much of it as I'd like because I'm still enamored (read:obsessed) with digital scrapbooking but I'm attending Art & Soul at the beginning of May... and I have a feeling that with all the paint, glass, solder, fabric, and photos flying around I will be inspired to create all sorts of new ArT!
Love that the numbers are climbing on the sidebar badge too! Way to go!!!

Hello, I am a perfect stranger, but a person with a disability. I use a ventilator 224/7 du to polio from the vaccine when I was 7 mths old in 1959.
That is not why I am here, but I am here to tell you that I have created a video on the bands website Five For Fighting. They created a website for fans to upload videos about what kind of world do you want.
One of the charities, which I chose was Autism speaks. If you watch my video all the way through to the end. Money goes to the above charity.
The video is about my life of 13 years on a ventilator and my surroundings, and that I love life.
Here is the link..I hope it gets money for Autism Speaks.
    Thanks

    Hi Ali,
I "stalk" your site frequently - and have been so thrilled to see the fundraising skyrocket for "Autism Speaks". In that vein, I thought there might be some information that you could use from this website: http://www.thoughtfulhouse.org/index.html
It's a center in Austin, TX that is doing a lot of research on a lot of different fronts. Hope it helps!

ARTistry looks like it was so cool. You guys must have had so much fun together. And I don't think you're the only one checking the 6 degrees badge obsessively. I'm sure several people are enjoying watching it climb.
