Six.

Birthdayboy

Big time excitement around here yesterday and today. Simon is six.

Yesterday we had a party with five other little kids and a bunch of adults and family. Kids were running and playing and eating and unwrapping. Simon loved it.

Here's the calm before the storm:

Birthday2

This year Simon went with a mixed theme. Elmo hats, Scoobie Doo banner + goodie bags, Dora cake plates, Shrek pizza plates, Cars cups, My Little Pony napkins, and a Happy Feet tablecloth. All favorites at one time or another over the past few years.

His newest passion right now is Star Wars. We got the original Star Wars movie at Christmas and since then we have watched it many times. Light sabers were requested as a birthday present. If he wouldn't have fallen asleep on the couch last night from sheer exhaustion I think he would have slept with those new light sabers. Those were definitely a hit.

No school today in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. so we are hanging out, playing with toys, and working in between.

What an ecclectic young man!!! I love it! Hope Simon has the greatest birthday ever and that six (one of my favorite years for a boy) is a year of magical discoveries.

Holy crap you get a on of comments LOL. Besides that, you're a fun mom to think of that. I love all the crazy themes! After all, kids only stick with things they love for about 5 months and then move on. well, at least my son does that.

Happy Birthday, Simon! I love the eclectic party theme. (I also love that My Little Pony was included in there, because it makes my husband a bit uncomfortable that Camden likes that & some other "girly" characters). @@ lol

I feel motivated to make a Proof of Me book after talking to you and hearing that it's one of your favorites. Thanks for signing my book! BTW, Happy Birthday Simon---it's so fun watching you grow up! Love the multiple themes! Also, if you have a minute to look, I'm the featured customer on Scrapbook Attack's website!

Happy Birthday Simon! Turning 6 is a big deal, the wiggly teeth will come soon! Ali, is that an old printers drawer behind the Scooby Doo banner? I have one in my basement that I love, but took it down because I tired of looking at it empty and, I'm not into spoons or other small nick nacks. It looks like you put photos in yours? Am I right? It looks great!

My oldest is going to turn 6 in March and that multi-theme could be the way we go as well. We haven't gotten it even narrowed down yet. Oh yes, Star Wars is definitely a hit with that age right now.
Have a great day home, we are being super lazy today, we are all still in pj's, can't beat that.

Happy Birthday to Simon! My son will be six in March and I just had to comment that Star Wars is a daily, every moment thing in our house! A super hit with my boy for Christmas was the action figures with the light sabers! He plays with those every single day for hours at a time. In his room, by himself, which is a rearity around here. If he's not doing that, he's playing the PS2 Lego Star Wars game, or light saber fighting with sticks, pine needles, his fingers, you name it! Have fun, it's only just begun!

My boys love Star Wars too.You will have to pick up some Star Wars Lego so that he can recreate the scenes.
When you have time, could you post the picture of the thing in the background. Is that a typesetters drawer with pictures in it? It must be hard when you post a great pic and everyone is exploring it for decorating ideas.

Happy Birthday Simon! The list of favourites made me laugh -- they have all been favourites with my boys over the last year too. And Star Wars has had staying power at my house -- it's been about 2 years now and showing no signs of slowing down.

LOVE it. I need to do a party like that with all kinds of left over plates we have aquired!
Yeah...boys with swords are a hit around here too! It is a constant good vs. evil around here...and they haven't even seen Star Wars yet. Boys just know they are here to protect the rest of us...deep in their soles they are made that way!
