Six.
Big time excitement around here yesterday and today. Simon is six.
Yesterday we had a party with five other little kids and a bunch of adults and family. Kids were running and playing and eating and unwrapping. Simon loved it.
Here's the calm before the storm:
This year Simon went with a mixed theme. Elmo hats, Scoobie Doo banner + goodie bags, Dora cake plates, Shrek pizza plates, Cars cups, My Little Pony napkins, and a Happy Feet tablecloth. All favorites at one time or another over the past few years.
His newest passion right now is Star Wars. We got the original Star Wars movie at Christmas and since then we have watched it many times. Light sabers were requested as a birthday present. If he wouldn't have fallen asleep on the couch last night from sheer exhaustion I think he would have slept with those new light sabers. Those were definitely a hit.
No school today in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. so we are hanging out, playing with toys, and working in between.

Glad to see a mum permitting her child to have a mixedtheme birthdayparty!!! Mine had a dinoprincess-one on her fifth. Curious what the theme will be this year: I'm afraid it'll be a ninjatheme or something: not girly at all, but hey, as long as she's having fun.
My little girl is now fascinated with E.T.: she loves him sooo much, she wants to go to the carnival as ET, luckily, she changed her mind. Now ET is her second imaginary friend, she said Little Eye (her first imaginary friend, who, she says, controlls the functions of her brains) was kind of lonely...

Happy Birthday Simon!! How they grow so fast. Can't go wrong with Star Wars...my three boys are still ga-ga over it after my hubby introduced it to them a couple years ago...light sabers are a must! You should check out Star Wars weekends at MGM Studios at Disney World...we went this past June and the boys LOVED it! Even got to be in a parade and carry light sabers (that they got to keep). It's usually held end of May beginning of June. Check it out.
