Inspired by
• This super sweet heart mobile from Pottery Barn kids. This could totally be made on your own using some cute red/pink/white fabric (or use up some of your paper stash). You could cut out your own hearts or use this new scalloped heart punch from Fiskars or the Giga Scalloped Heart Punch from Marvy.
If you don't want to make a circle mobile you could also just string some on ribbon and hang them from the ceiling. I started punching out some hearts last week and am thinking about making some simple hanging hearts that could attach to the light fixture in our dining room for a simple Valentine decoration.
I am also considering doing a fabric one with some scraps I have in my stash if I have time (or making some of the pins that I link to below).
• The Office of the Tooth Fairy (via Oh Happy Day) kits or recording the loss of those precious little teeth. I ordered this and received it in the mail on Friday - it is super sweet with great design. Simon currently still has all his baby teeth so I am keeping this in a safe spot for later use.
• Hula's list : she always has the best ideas.
• Karen Russell's A Year In The Making class kit. Seriously awesome use of slide page protectors.
• Completely love these little Valentine heart pins (and the tutorial on how to put them together) found at The Purl Bee.
• Delighted by Kristybee's photos on Flickr. I am especially into one's like this.
Thanks to those of you who recommended I pick up The Pillars of the Earth
again after my 16 Things post. I plowed through all 900+ pages over the last couple of weeks and finished it up yesterday. Definitely a good one.
Chris and I started watching the HBO John Adams series this weekend so I am thinking about reading one of Abagail Adam's biographies next.
And finally, I got started working on a little hybrid-baby book this past week. I am keeping it simple and hope to share some of my ideas on that later this week depending on how things go. The focus is on reflections and creating a space to jot down thougths as we find our way through those first few weeks.
The mobile is cute and looks so easy to do. I love that tooth fairy certificate and stuff. So cute. More than anything I am getting excited as the baby's birth gets closer. I'm just so excited for you and Chris and Simon.

WOW, that tooth fairy thing is just perfect! It is so easy to forget those details and the kids love remembering.

Thanks, Ali, for answering my question about cutting fabric with punches. In re-reading your post, I realized you were suggesting paper. It's a great project.

Also watched the John Adams series. It was amazing!!! It provoked the same response in me...currently about half way through an Abigail Adams biography.

You MUST read "World Without End." It was just as good.

I highly recommend Our Founding Mothers, by Cokie Roberts. Abigail Adams was by far my favorite and I did not know what a strong influence she was and what a wonderful partnership they had especially for that day.
thanks for sharing all the wonderful heart items. Love them.

Such cute ideas!
My daughter and I actually made her 100 Days of School project based on that PB mobile - here it is:

and we spotted those cute purl bee hearts earlier this weekend and DD#1 has decided that her class must have them for Valentine's Day!
Cannot wait to see the baby album!

The Tooth Fairy kit is so cute! I'm not sure I totally understand it, though. Do you use the same certificate over and over or are there more than one certificate in the kit? I would love to get one for my little guy who hasn't lost any of his teeth yet either!

Hi Ali love all the projects you are doind and "little A's" room looks gorgeous. I have watched the John Adams series and as an Australian, really appreciated the look at American history, well acted.
Good luck to you and your family as you await the new arrival (if it hasn't happened yet). x Jackie

Ali, you are so inspiring. I could spend days just reading your blog, planning things and finally making all these wonderful things. Just have to find a way to manage my three children and husband and dog in between. Maybe I have to organize myself and have a special "Ali-inspired-day-of-the-week to make your recommended projects..."

Ali, I just found your sight and loved the Office of the Tooth Fairy Kit. What a great idea. My kids are grown now and I found a box of baby teeth in a drawer a while back. I have no idea whose were whose :) Oh well maybe my grandchildren's can be kept in a record.
