Weekend Thought : Your 12 Stories
If you could only create 12 scrapbook layouts that defined your life what stories would you tell?
I am thinking about mine.
Feel free to share or just contemplate.

I was thinking the same thing--some of the 12 I initially came up with would change throughout the years. OTOH, some of them would remain. Recently I did a "Favorites" layout, including a 9-square grid of 9 photos of what my favorite things are right now. http://www.bigpicturescrapbooking.com/gallery/cache/24544/FavoritesLO-web-rev_0.jpg
This post makes me wonder what I'd do with 12 more squares in my grid.....

What a great question. I might pose this to my scrap club as an assignment for our next crop! I could even see this as a '12 things' layout, to be revisited from time to time. Oh, the possibilities!!!
I'm thinking about my answers right now...

I'd want to share the majesty of being alive. I'd want to show how deeply connections can be rooted, and how people are drawn together by the simplest of things. I'd want to record how even the most irretractable mistake is better than not living fully. I'd want to share the blessings I have in my friends and family. I'd also want a lot of photos of my dog in there, too.

I would try to incorporate a lot onto a page so might concentrate on comparisons and contrasts for many of them:
1. All the places I've lived
2. My spiritual heritage
3. Important things I learned from my parents
4. My brother and sister
5. Love at first sight - The story of me and DH
6. Significant moments with our son
7. Significant moments with our daughter
8. Baby pictures of all 5 grandkids
9. "Hospitals of the World Tour"
10.The travels of a lifetime
11.How I've used Gods' gifts/talents
12.Looking forward to the next chapter/projections for retirement

Goodness, brilliant question, Ali. Am going to have a think but definitely two of my 12 would be about the people that have impacted my life the most and another about moments that changed the course of my life. I guess the others would include things such as 'what i believe', but I need to put my thinking cap on about this one. It'll make a GREAT 'mini' book - can't wait to get started. As ever, thanks for the inspiration!

Can't decide between: playing in the water sprinkler and my sandbox that my dad built for my brother and I OR, going to our lake house every weekend with my dad's family. Both are wonderful memories

Ali, this is a great topic that generates thinking and on a Saturday... Initially, I thought 12, gosh that is too many I'll never be able to make a list of 12 layouts that described my life. Then, I've had to narrow my list maybe because I'm getting old! I have so many wonderful stories to tell with photos and without photos. So, at this moment this is my list
of layouts
1. Me at each decade of my life and how I defined myself during these time frames
2. I am my mother's daughter- this contains great stories and some not so great
3. My greatest accomplishments-my son and my daughter
4. MY incredible beautiful granddaughters
5. My traveling experiences with friends, family and husband
6. Lessons I learned being a Mom and being an adult daughter
7. My spirituality
8. My loving relationships with my English Bulldogs and my compassion for all beings/souls that cannot speak for themselves
9. Nature-photography cannot separate them
10.My childhood stories/pictures from my summers in a tiny southern Louisiana town with my grandparents and my cousins
11.Laughter- laughter is jogging for the soul
12.My collection of my mother's, grandmother's life in stories and pictures and how I fit in so well and with such pride.
Now I am ready for more! Thanks Ali,
Marilyn

HI Ali,
Wow, this is a hard question that I have been thinking about for the past day or so. What moments have defined my life?...I think, for me, it wouldn't be anything so big as graduating from university or my family but it would be small flashes of points in my past. Things like being in fourth grade and waking up to hear my Mom come home from working her third job or being in sixth grade and having my first cat, Monster, die of a stroke.
Even though these are tiny pieces of my past, they influenced me more than some of the big "events". For these 12 pages I would have to create pages filled with words, no photos, no ribbons, no buttons...just the stories themselves.
