Sponsor Giveaways: SewCute Shop

Sewcutegiveaway

One person will receive a Women's Auty Top from SewCute Shop (you will be able to choose your own fabric from her current stock):

Here's a little bit about SewCute Shop and Brandy's mission to do something really good for another family:

I started sewing sometime last year and fell in love. My grandmother (Nana) taught me the basics of pinning patterns, hemming, and seams. After being taught those skills I have really been a self-taught seamstress. I have a true love for putting the most trendy fabrics together and making 'SewCute' items. The items I place in SewCute Shop are my favorites and I am very happy to make them for you.

In March 2009 my best friend's little boy was suddenly diagnosed with adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) - a degenerative brain disease. The movie 'Lorenzo's Oil was made to bring awareness to this newly discovered disease. In early April, Joel, Teresa and Riley Greene aka TEAMGREENE were moved from Chattanooga, TN to Durham, NC where Riley would spend what they thought 100 days after receiving a bone marrow transplant. Due to complications, this week marks 133 TEAMGREENE has been in Duke Hospital.

I made a pledge to donate all proceeds from SewCute Shop to TEAMGREENE until they returned home in Chattanooga. For me sewing has become much more than just a hobby it has been a small part of what allows my best friend to stay by her son's side. For more information on TEAMGREENE visit www.carepages.com/carepages/teamgreene and create a username/password.

When I'm not sewing away I enjoy spending time with my fabulous husband, Ty and two children Autumn (9) and Tyler (2).

I had Brandy make one of these for Anna (see above) and one of these for me (love wearing it over my jeans) and they are awesome.

The American Heart Association is near and dear to my heart. I lost both of my maternal grandparents to heart disease. My grandfather right before I was born and my grandmother right before my daughter was born.
These events impacted my life, I often wonder what my grandfather was like, he inspired so many. I would have loved to spend some time with him on this earth. My grandmother...I just miss her so much...so.so.very much.

There are so many charities that I think are great, including several I volunteer for but one I think is especially awesome, and still relatively unheard of, is Project Night Night. They donate tote bags containing PJs, blankets, and stuffed toys to children living in homeless shelters.

Just wanted to say that I think it is very honorable to see the love Brandy has for her friend's family. I hope if something like this ever happens to me or someone around me I will be a friend with that much compassion. My husband and my favorite charity is Compassion international. I feel so grateful every time we get a letter from the child we sponsor & love him dearly, although we have never met. Its amazing to know that with what little we give, Michael & his family can have hope & reassurance for their future.

I have always had a connection with Kibaale children's fund as it was set up by my high school. I was also fortunate enough to be on the missions trip that visited Kibaale, Uganda during my grade 12 year.

I am a supporter of the Batten Disease Support & Research Association (BDSRA) www.bdrsa.org. The daughter of a family friend has this terrible disease. You can read more about Celia on her family blog (http://betzfamilycolumbus.blogspot.com) and about what another special person did for Celia to raise awareness about BDSRA (http://www.careforcelia.com/).
Sorry that I don't know how to make the hyperlinks.

I think my fav. charity would have to be our local Baptist Children's Home (http://www.bchfs.com/) because I've personally seen what they can do for the kids that end up there.

When I was a little girl I had an orthopaedic problem that was very costly to my family that did not have health insurance. Shriners in TN took care of me and I can now run and have no leg problems.

She makes adorable stuff! For the past 2 years I've volunteered with a different charity (almost) every month. One that I really enjoyed working with is Jubilee Women's center (jwcenter.org) that is a transitional housing center for women. They work with homeless women, giving them skills and confidence to 'start over', making sure they don't fall through the cracks of the system. I believe in their mission!
