I just love to get our Christmas tree. It's simple, but really reminds me that Christmas time is here!

On Christmas morning, we open our stockings when we first get up. Then we stop and eat a special breakfast. In earlier years we would then spend a lot of time opening our gifts one by one. We could stretch it out for hours.

Christmas is just magical to me! Many traditions throughout the years plus the new ones we begin each year are my favorite! White lights on our Christmas tree, getting in the car to check out all of the decorated houses, Hallmark Christmas movies, Christmas morning with grandparents ... I love each and every one of them!

My favorite tradition is the Advent Calendar. I love the building up of anticipation and the magic the kids have when opening each door each morning.

December means breaking out the Christmas carols and movies. I love this time of year, but I wear my family out with all the singing and such. My son thinks I am "Christmas Crazy", I just think that I believe in the Christmas Magic!!!!
    Thanks for more great giveaways.

My favorite December tradition was taking Kristen's Christmas list and writing a letter to her from Santa that incorporated some of her wishes then have a girlfriend rewrite it and send it from a couple of towns over. It took her years to figure out that it was me doing it! LOL She loved it, waited every year for her letter to arrive.

My favorite tradition is one my Grandmother started when I was a kid. She delivered Kringle to us each and every Christmas and it's what we always had for Christmas breakfast. It would come and I knew Christmas was around the corner. One year, it didn't come. Again.. the next year. We knew that she had forgotten to send it in her older years. No one knew where she had ordered them from as my Mother never kept the boxes. There was a time when we didn't have Kringle. However, when I was in my early 20's, I happened to be telling someone about this tradition I remembered in my childhood and amazingly, she knew the place in Wisconsin! From that year on, I've been the one sending out Kringle to my family for Christmas breakfasts, so now, all of our kids have share in this tradition as well!! That's my favorite!

I have so many favorite holiday traditions. I think one of my most favorite though is creating a peaceful, anticipation-filled Christmas eve with my family including a spread of hors d'oeuvres, the opening of one gift for all, reading 'Twas The Night Before Christmas, etc. Pure magic.

Like some of the others, my favorite tradition, one that my family has done since I can remember, is driving around to look at the Christmas lights. I am excited to carry on this tradition with my own little ones. I hope it is as magical for then as it was and is for me :)

One of my favorites growing up was the stockings that my grandmother made every year, she would save every box from her oatmeal, she always bought the cylinders of quaker oats, and would make stockings for the whole family. Every year she made a different design, I remember her making houses, drums, a train where my grandfather's was the engine & the youngest(who was me at the time) was the caboose, wooden soldiers, and one year she even made Santas! She moved last year, almost 500 miles away, so this is the second year we will be missing those stockings.

Christmas morning wouldn't be the same without chocolate pancakes (regular pancakes with dark chocolate syrup and whipped cream). My mom made them when we were kids, and now my siblings and I carry on the tradition. We only ever had these on Christmas morning, but I push the envelope and make them for my daughter's birthday breakfast too. :o)

What great giveaways. Our favorite tradition is having my MIL and grandMIL over to help us decorate our tree. They love us using some of their very old ornaments mixed in with our children's ornaments.
