My newest family tradition is getting together with my 4 cousins (sisters) and their girls to make dozens and dozens of cookies for Christmas. It's utter chaos and we love the mess and fun of it all. :)

My favorite tradition is putting the ornaments on the tree each year that my children have made. They are grown now and will each take a box of ornaments with them when they get married. :)

My favorite tradition is this one: On Christmas morning, the girls get their stockings and sit on our bed. They rifle through their stockings and eat some of the candy. Then, we all head to the living room to see what santa has brought. *sigh* it's a wonderful, happy event. It's very simple but so much fun.

At bedtime on Christmas Eve we all sit in the front room with just the Christmas tree lit and I read "The Night Before Christmas". This will be our 15th year! Our teenager isn't crazy about it, but she still comes in there and listens and at the end, she is smiling! She acts like she doesn't want to, but deep down it means alot to her! And of course our 7 year old loves it!

My favorite Christmas tradtion is one we started this year. I have a two year old and we want him to understand how giving to others is such a great feeling. We pulled a name off the angel tree for a less fortunate child and bought for them. I hope to continue this every year.

My favorite tradition is going into Pike National Forest and cutting our own tree. My friends throw a bonfire and we roast hot dogs and marshmallows and help each other tie our trees onto the car roofs. It's a blast, and something i never dreamed of doing while growing up in inner-city Chicago! Thanks for the giveaways, Ali!

It may sound silly, but the one thing that has stuck through the years of my family-- is opening a gift on christmas eve (well the kids open one, the adults have to wait LOL) but the gift is ALWAYS new pajammas... we did it when I was a kid and now I am continuing the tradition with my son :D

I think one of my favorite traditions is going to the midnight service at our church on Christmas Eve. Celebrating the birth of our savior, in a beautiful, darkened sactuary w/ candles flickering, singing and worshiping. For us it's the only way to truly get ready for Christmas morning.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is collecting ornaments. Now that we are parents, our daughter gets one each year too. I'm really enjoying seeing how her interests change over the years!

My favorite tradition is on Christmas Eve Day. Uur friends come over and I bake my famous cut out sugar cookies and we all sit around laughing and decorating them. It took a couple years to find the best recipe but now we have it down and we love it.

It is so hard to pick just one...hmmmm. I'd have to say THE MAKING OF THE COOKIES. It is a joint effort and I try to enlist the help of everyone. We make cookie plates as gifts for friends and neighbors, so it is a big effort. Each year this invokes different memories from each of us and I love the recounting. Tweeking the recipes is ongoing and the results are varied. Much fun!
Thanks for the chance! Happy Holidays!
