Home Front Giveaway

SC_JANReveal_Newsletter1

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.

One person will receive the January main kit from Studio Calico.

The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.

At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Here's a bit about Lisa and her business:

When
California girl and young mom, Lisa Leonard decided to start her small
jewelry business five years ago, she had no idea how things would take
off.  With a fresh perspective and an artist’s heart she set about
making jewelry that could not be found anywhere else.  Her
hand-stamped, sterling silver jewelry is setting the trends and is
loved by women all over the world.

Her hand-wrought creations have been featured in several
national magazines, such as Parenting Magazine, Pregnancy Magazine,
Victoria Magazine and Wondertime. Online outlets are singing the
praises of Lisa Leonard Designs, including Cookie Magazine and
Glamour.com. Celebrities also love her line, including Josie Bissett,
Jason and Naomi Priestly and Jennie Garth.

Each piece is hand-cut, hammered, stamped, polished and
drilled with care in her California workshop.  You’ll find the perfect
gift for a friend, grandmother, sister or of course, yourself!  And
don’t forget dad or baby.  Lisa offers custom keychain and baby spoons
that will warm the heart.

I am striving to get fit both in body and mind and hope this will be demonstrated in an improvement in my mental health which has taken a beating over the past decade. I am taking the Wellness journey class at BIG PICTURE and so far I loving what I reading and doing. One of my aims is also to show my wellness through my scrapbooking and also my faith as I strive to ''walk the walk'' with God,

This year I am resolved to slow down, enjoy more, stress less, and embrace every experience. So everyday I end my day with some time to reflect on what that day brought and what I want to remember about that day. A new journal is helping me to record these days.

My word is excellence, so today I will make more excellent choices concerning my time, my food, and my work and play. Every time I'm tempted to put that piece of junk food in my mouth or spend more time on the computer than I should I am asking myself if this is the more excellent choice and am I striving for excellence in that particular activity.

The word I chose for 2010 is "Right". The first item on my list to set to Right is my relationship with my Mother. It went through some trials and tribulations in 2009 that need to be amended, forgiven, and learned from.

My word this year is "forward" ... moving forward. Not being encumbered with the past, mistakes I've made, regrets. Being thankful for the good memories (and taking time to document them this year!) and looking ahead to a new season of growth and laughter and LIFE.

My little word for 2010 is challenge. We plan to change our life by moving across the whole country (which has been always our dream) and it means starting from almost square one at the new place again.
It will be a huge change and a lot of challenges for our family and I don't want to be afraid to face them. That's why I chose this word.
Thank you for inspiring me, Ali!

Thank you Ali for all of your hard work that you put into your blog and really blessing us with your stories and your life.

Accomplish - being a stay at home mom, I often feel as if I haven't accomplished anything in a day. My goal with this word is to appreciate the small, everyday accomplishments that happen when you are raising great kids, and to end each day with a blog post about what I feel I was able to accomplish, and what I hope to accomplish the following day. It might simply be 'survived' but I'm hoping for more!

I hope it's still okay to mulling over my word! Last year it took me awhile too, but ended up being clear and a beautiful inspiration for the year (enjoy). I can't wait to discover (or be found by!) this year's word!

My word for the year is JOY. I want to find joy in little things, and make my own joy. I want to focus less on the negative and more on the positive, and really make my own happiness. One action I'm taking so far is to slow down and enjoy my son and all the little things he says and does... without the constant hustle and bustle of trying to get things done.

I literally have a handful of words that I've been trying to narrow down but instead the list keeps growing (it was only at 2 a week ago!) so hopefully I can figure it out soon.
The reason behind all of my words though is this is a year of change, possibilities, opportunities, learning, and exploration (see!). We'll be moving to Germany in March/April and possibly starting a family by the end of the year (we'll have to see how well we settle once we get to Germany) so there is so much I'm looking forward to this year. I'm so excited it's here and I can't wait until it truly starts! Only one month of work left and the preparations will really begin!

My word is "valuable" and with that I want to make more valuable time with my kids. Not just meeting their basic needs and getting done what needs to be done each day, but also doing something more valuable each and every day with them. Something to inspire creativity in them, to let them know I care, to do something outside of the normal, to get their little brains working. Shooing them to the playroom is a thing of the past!!!

I'm using your word from last year- NURTURE- because I just had a baby, and my older two are also craving more attention. To help us all focus on our family this year, I'm developing a family mission statement/rules to be posted where we can all remind ourselves to be kind to each other.

This year I choose "move forward". In so many ways/on many levels, me and my family need to move forward...hoping acknowledging that and "naming" it will help initiate some action.
    thanks!
