PEEK AT THE PROCESS
| I knew three things for sure when I started the creative process for the layout featured above:

1. I wanted to use the photo of Simon reading in the tree and I wanted it to be bigger than 4x6.
2. I wanted to use the July 2010 stamp set.
3. I wanted to use elements from the Studio Calico September 2010 kit.

I started by cutting out the strip of numbers from the Jenni Bowlin pattern paper. At this point in the process I wasn't too sure what the end layout design was going to look like but I had a general idea to use that number strip as an anchor along the bottom of the main content.

After stamping the Capture Life rectangle above on the cream cardstock I decided to repeat that basic shape using pattern papers (sometimes I just stamp and go for it). I love the technique of repetition.

To give the design a bit of variety I mixed up the height of the rectangles.

Each of the pattern paper rectangles was adhered to the cream cardstock. I added a bit of stitching around two of them. These rectangles would make great homes for additional embellishments if you were creating a page similar to this and wanted to add more.

As you might notice I ended up cutting out this whole area with the cream cardstock background and adhering it to white cardstock.

My initial plan was to have the chipboard title just along the top. I ended up adding "& Read A Book" towards the end of the process. Because that all happened at the end I trimmed some white cardstock off the top to make the margins between the edge of the chipboard letters and the cardstock even.

To complete the page I adhered it to the dark navy lined pattern paper and added zig zag stitching and a little bit of journaling.

Do you have any school based stamps? I do school memory books for my kids and maybe something along those lines? Also, what about something that would go with seasons -- we love to play outside and I currently do not have may embellishments for when we take bike adventures or playing at the park.

Great page! I'd like to see some stamps about siblings, and a brother/sister relationship since I have a boy and girl.

I'd love to see Christmas stamps, but more specifically for the December daily series. I know you have the digital templates and it's easy to print them out and use them, I just prefer to get a little more inky with my scrapbooking. :)

I'd love to see stamps related to the senses, touch, feel, hear, smell....just the basics in some varying heights of letters maybe? Sometimes on a layout I want a large word stamp and those are hard to find...

How about an alphabet and number set? Or something more geometric - like circles with lovely Christmas words in it (similar to what is available from designer digitals in your line)? I love your stamps and all of your work! Thanks for always inspiring and the change to win!

What a great layout...I like everyday sayings, things that I could use on layouts for anyone in my family. Or maybe some sayings that would be themed for teenagers or school. I have most of your other sets and they are my go-to stamps for my layouts...love them!

I agreee with so many of the other posters, a set with numbers and squares and circles that they could nest in would be great. I see this as being useful for the December Daily and many others pages.

I always do one book that is our family and friends book for everything we did during the year for each year. Super Bowl parties, birthdays, girls escape. So anything that I could use from year to year. Thanks for all the inspiration you have given me and my friends!
