My fondest memories are of school-- it was my happy place from a not so happy homelife. I felt validated, smart, important and those feelings impacted me greatly. I also met my future husband in sixth grade as we competed for Student Council president-- he won (and I learned alot about not always winning, not always being at the top, etc) I loved school!

I loved seeing my friends every day! As kids we don't realize how easy it is for life to get in the way. Things were so simple back then...

Love freshly sharpened pencils, stacks of paper waiting for a story (or a math solution), newly purchased pencil crayons and a pencil case with my name on it!

I absolutely LOVED my Art classes. The drawing, painting & really anything like woodwork, sewing, metalwork so all the crafty things too. I also loved shopping for new school supplies especially art related things & then spending the weekend covering & decorating all my books

I loved using all my new supplies at the beginning of the year -- the first page of notebooks and very sharp pencils. As far as academics, I loved my 5th grade teacher Mrs. Schlagetter and the reading/book projects we did with her. It was there that I discovered Judy Blume and Beverly Cleary.

I just love when my middle child comes home from school and share a new concept with me, like I have never heard of it before and she just has to tell me so that I'll know all about it, too!

I loved Football season. I lived in a small town and everyone came together that night for tailgate cookouts and booster celebrations. I loved how confident I felt at those games-even when I was in middle school and it was not really "my" school yet. Great times with family and friends!

I loved the library at all my schools. I loved looking through the card catalog and hoping my book would be on the shelf. So many books, so little time. Thanks!
